I haven't seen a cockpit as good as this one. The lighting is so like the real thing that you'll want to turn it on day or night. Night flying just became so much more interesting for me, I love the glow of the instruments. Speaking of which, the clarity of the text and gauges is something else. I find it hard to go back to my other planes bought from other well known publishers now. Some patches are fixing various issues with the plane right now but it's getting better and seeing as the plane is very new I think the developers are working very quickly in response to consumer feedback. The FMC in this plane is just right for me, not too complicated, load a flight plan or punch in some data and away you go. I used to go for complex flight systems but found I rarely bother once the novelty has worn off, get in and fly and enjoy! At the price you couldn't do worse than pick up this plane for what it offers. |

This is a very good effort for what it is intended to be - basically an Airbus with simplified systems that doesn't require you to spend hours of familiarisation and work your way through a stack of manuals to fly. The exterior model is very good as is the VC (no 2D cockpit) There has been a lot of debate in the Aerosoft forum about the simplified FMS/CDU that doesn't allow you to add SIDS and STARS. In fairness, Aerosoft have always been very open about this and the proposed market for the product i.e. it isn't aimed at hardcore procedural simmers. I have never found the the lack of SIDS & STARS to be a problem - assign them in FS Commander and export the flight plan to your FSX routes folder and the Airbus will pick them up - no problem. A good Airbus for a quick flight after work. If you want a complex procedural simulation with all the bells and whistles wait for Flight Sim Labs to release their Airbus Pro series in 2011. If it is anything like their Concorde simulation it will be awesome. For what this is it is well worth four stars. |

A really enjoyable plane to fly, which includes a fantastic VC and exterior model. and as long as you realise that this is not a hard core simmer's aircraft, then you will not be disappointed! |

I was disappointed with airbus x as it has no 2d panels I have the vrinsight CDU2, but i cant use it. The lighting is very good both inside and outside the aircraft. As for frame rates i get the same as the airbus a320 from wilco. |

I've purchased many Aerosoft products over the years and have found they generally do a great job. However, the Airbus X (version 1.21) leaves me scratching my head wondering how this could be from the same developer. In the past few days of using this add-on, I often found myself asking "did they even beta test this?". The list of bugs is remarkable and the plane makes FSX incredibly unstable. System crashes have become the norm when switching to and from the Airbus X or even closing FSX after a flight. Aerosoft makes no illusions about the limited capabilities they've build (or rather, *not* built) into this aircraft - and that is fine - but bugs and outright omissions (you can't change the aircraft setup to use lbs instead of kgs, for example) are truly unfortunate. A much-needed update is supposedly being worked on, though it has apparently taken the better part of two years to develop. On the plus side though, the visual model is quite detailed and accurate. This add-on looks great but that's where it ends. Here's to hoping version 2.0 is a do-over for the Aerosoft Airbus X team. |
