An exiting combination of the venerable Seahawk helicopter (in the US Navy version and the export version) and the USS Boxer, the WASP class amphibious support ship.
The Seahawk/Jayhawk is a specially-equipped, naval derivative of the renowned H-60 Blackhawk. It is used as a platform for the Light Airborne Multi-Purpose Subsytem (LAMPS) Mark III mission, and has earned its reputation as an excellent fully integrated air/ship weapons platform. But it also serves as a VIP transport, ship to shore transport (VERTREP), Search and Rescue (SAR) and ambulance (Medivac) platform. Highly versatile and far more stable then the Blackhawk it is a reliable workhorse of the US navy and coast guard.
The USS Boxer is capable of landing 2000 marines and providing them with all the air support and provisions they need for several days. A self supporting army capable of invading any coastal country but also a very powerful humanitarian force as is recently shown in South East Asia in the Tsunami relief efforts. The LHD ships are built to deliver stores to coastal regions without any infrastructure so they are perfect for delivering aid to a community that is devastated. The large supplies, excellent medical facilities, organisation and communications make the USS Boxer a floating city that can inflict serious damage and repair serious damage. The ship in FS has detailed lighting for night operations and will be available at 8 locations worldwide. The level of detail of the ship is such as not seen before. From the animated radars, to the forklift trucks and battery carts on deck, it's all there. The USS Boxers gives you ten highly exiting floating airports all over the world!

An absolutely outstanding model in every way. The level of detail is awsome and includes several locations and complete missions. Some have complained about the fps. On flightsim.com forum there is a simple solution for low spec computers, that was posted in the first week of April. You dont need the latest hardware to make this worth buying |

Awesome visual detail on this helo, but beware the frame rate monster, especially in VC. Just to be fair to Aerosoft and compare SH-60 to one of their other products, I've got the A-10 as well...never experienced any real frame rate degradation with the A-10 as I have with SH-60. I'm running a P4 3.0GB, 1.5GB ram, 256 MB Nvidia. One of the rare instances when I had to SERIOUSLY left-slide my graphic levels.
No fair to really comment on the "flight model" since I really am just roof hopping or making FS videos when I'm doing helos. Also, with Boxer included as it is, the value is definitely there. But you just gotta hate that feeling when you realize the software is creeping up to pass your machine that you still considered fairly HOT the day before! That wasn't supposed to happen until FS2006! |

The seahawk doesn't only kill terrorists or drug loaded speedboats, it also kills frame rates.
I have a p4 3.2 GHz HTT machine with a 128 MB graphics card 1 GB of RAM but flying near the boxer is 6-7 FPS only. It becomes a bit better if you disable the scenery to dense instead of extremely dense, but you don't get to see the parked fork lifts and helos. The ship is very detailed and I hope they find a way to make it more configurable so that it can be placed in other locations and that some of its features can be disabled to make it easier on the frames..
The chopper is top notch, and it is very modern. The auto hovering is novel and takes a bit of learning, but with practice nice landings can be performed.
I would recommend the add-on to the rotorheads who have fast PCs (above 3 GHZ).
People with lesser PCs can still enjoy flying the helo in airports and other sceneries, not the Boxer.
