AIRSIM - CRETE 2004

Several great places of interest and 3 airports are represented. Areas of HERAKLION, HANIA, SITIA and KRISTA.

HERAKLION: The port and the steamer " France " reconstituted, ramparts of the city, the Royal palate of CNOSSOS and the Airport. CNOSSOS:

Great place of interest located at 5 km in the south of Héraklion. You can admire the vestiges of the royal palate which goes back to 1900 years before JC., it was largest and the most important palate of Peak. Are represented the throne room, the southernmost veranda, the large ones propylées, the central court, the sanctuary, part of the frontage of the western wing, the bastions is and western royal apartments, the frescos etc….

HANIA: fly over this famous old man Vénitien port, who is most important today of Peak. You will be able to see some historic buildings along the port. The airport of HANIA is located at approximately 20 km in the east.

SITIA: In north east of the Peak, charming the small town of SITIA, its port, its castle, its church and large tourist hotels of the edge of sea. Today the airport of Sitia is not yet completely built and the author of this scene anticipated work. Frequency VOR of Sitia: 113,3, the beacon is located at the south east of the airport at the end of the island. ILS PISTE 23 108.00.

KRISTSA: In the east of Kritsa you can fly over the plate of LASSITHI located at 820 m of altitude. This plate extends on 12 km from Length and 6 km broad. Formerly hundreds of wind mills were used to irrigate this zone of culture. Today the wind mills do not function any more. 

RETHYMON: The port and the fortress built into 1574. This city is located halfway between HENIA and HERAKLION. This zone is an important bench mark if you accomplish a flight VFR along the northern dimension.
