I work as an Ambulance Technician in the UK - this game is essentially my job therefore I have a very critical view over this product. This game (now in English) has no manual, although it wasn't difficult to figure it out. The game is generally very good. The graphics aren't bad, but could be a bit better - overall the physics engine is good (although I did find a few glitches in the physical world where I fell through the ground and had to restart the whole .exe. There are a sever lack of menu options. You can adjust basic graphic settings (Resolution, AI Traffic Density and Shadow detail)and sound setting (overall volume). The gameplay itself is entertaining, however becomes a little repetitive. In terms of treating patients, you are giving a small brief of their injuries when you arrive in scene however a lot of treatment is based on guesswork. You aren't given any indication of the specific injury(s) you are treating. This often causes you to lose points. The locations you travel to are quite limited (the ones I have come across are a private house, school, church, park and petrol station). You are also based in the same ambulance station and travel to the same hospital throughout the game. The map isn't actually that large and could be more varied - it is simply a small city with single-lane city roads. The lack of a map can also be quite annoying, as the little direction arrow can sometimes be confusing at junctions, if you are looking for the more direct route from A to B. It is a great game but leaves a fair bit of room for improvement, but nether-the-less worth a try. |

This game is German. I only speak English so I had to do my own translating. Not a single part of this game is in English. Unless you are willing and prepared to use translation references, then you should avoid this game. This game is an ambulance simulator not a paramedic simulator. While the primary focus is on driving an ambulance, you will also treat patients. The treatment requires almost no skill. You will be given clues as to what treatments to administer when you arrive on the scene. You are given a choice of several treatments. If you select the wrong one, your bonus shrinks, and you have to choose again until you pick the right one. Administering the (correct) treatment is by no means technical as you watch your person perform it without any more input. The game has four levels which require a certain number of points to reach. After that, it goes on endlessly in level four. This game excels in graphics and sounds. The city detail is one of the best I've seen from Astragon. The driving physics gave me no problems. This game has no manual that I found. There is an in-game tutorial to get you started, but is very basic leaving you to figure some things out for yourself. For example, it is not clear how to know when you are authorized to use the sirens and flashing lights (you will see a blue flashing light near the steering wheel if you are cleared). The learning curve is still fairly easy, otherwise. I am glad I bought this game. To me, it was not a waste of time to translate it. It was a worthwhile purchase. My only wish is that there were more levels (beyond the four). |
