This aircraft was designed for the high end PC. It was designed by using over 30000 polygons for the main model, and additional 20000 polygons for the virtual cockpit. It was mapped to 32 high resolution bitmap files with over 70 megabytes in size per paint scheme. A lower resolution version of the product is offered aswell.
Cockpits
The CWDT P-51D Mustang includes highly detailed Virtual and 2DCockpits that have been modeled and illustrated from a variety of technical and historical sources. The modeling and texture work have been further enhanced by a number of custom gauges that have also been based on actual photographs from P-51D cockpits. The external Drop-tank models also feature custom fuel gauges for all five fuel tanks – centre, left, right, left drop-tank and right drop-tank. The four extra panels (Fuel panel, GPS, Throttle-Mixture-Prop pitch, and radios) can be accessed either directly from the 2D panel using the icons in the bottom left; or they can be accessed in the 2D and VC by using the following commands: Shift + 1 through Shift + 5.

There are 9 different paint schemes included in this package. All of them have been thoroughly researched for historical accuracy and represent many of the theaters of operations in which this magnificent fighter saw service.
