This is a massive collection of data, totaling over 6gb - which is actually too much for a 'standard' DVD. In fact, we've had to go to a special larger-capacity DVD format to fit it all on!
Simplates' friendly interface makes it easy to find exactly the plate or information you are looking for quickly, print it out, and have it ready for your virtual flight. Yes, SimPlates are meant to be printed, not viewed on screen (though it is theoretically possible to view them on-screen as well, as they come as PDF files, you will in practice find it easier to do as real pilots do and print them out to reference while you are simming).
Remember, SimPlates are ACTUAL IFR PLATES! However, pilots, please avoid all temptation and DO NOT USE THEM FOR REAL WORLD FLIGHT. This is because actual IFR plates have relatively short life spans, and thus the plates in SimPlates should be considered expired. However, they are still more than perfectly valid for simulator flying.

It is very important that you read and understand the terms and conditions of purchase here, as purchase of this product is strictly non-refundable.
- Simplates X (SimPlates) is a program that works on PCs that have Microsoft Windows™ and compatible operating systems. Because of the large variety of PC and potential incompatibilities with some systems and because purchases of the software are strictly non-returnable, we strongly suggest that you install and try out the Simplates DEMO and make sure that it is running to your satisfaction on their PC before purchase. You are welcome to download the demo from here. The demo is technologically the same as the full version (though obviously the full version is larger and has more data).
- You must agree to not use this software under any circumstances for any real-world flight-planning or other operational use.
This software is NOT for real world flight planning.
- The license being sold here is a SINGLE USER, NON-TRANSFERRABLE license. What that means is that, after purchase, you will be welcome to download and install the software to your PC for your OWN PERSONAL USE. If you know of friends, colleagues, co-workers, or others who might benefit from this software, please encourage them to download and purchase their own copies.
- After your purchase is processed, you will receive, via email, an unlock code. The unlock code will typically come to you in an email from SWreg, the company that handles orders for us, or, possibly, in some cases, from PayPal. After you receive this code, you will need it to get into the area of our site where you can download the full SimPlates X software.
- The total amount of data to download is approximately 6 GB (6 GIGABYTES), in 8 separate files. When installed on your hard drive, the total size is again, approximately 6 GB (or slightly more). Users are expected to generally download the software within 14 days of purchase, and should not, under normal circumstances, expect to be able to access our servers for the purposes of downloading the software thereafter (though we may make exceptions in exceptional cases. HOWEVER exceptional cases ARE NOT AND WILL NOT BE at some point in the future your hard drive crashed or you lost your laptop and now want to re-download the software or anything along those lines. To guard against such events, we STRONGLY encourage you to make MULTIPLE, PRIVATE backups of the downloaded files and your unlock codes. You can make as many backups as you want, but you may not, under any circumstances, share this with others. Please understand that there will be ZERO VARIANCE from this policy, so for best results, MAKE A BACKUP, preferably on an external drive, DVD-ROM, etc AS SOON AS YOU DOWNLOAD THE STUFF!).
- After downloading and installing the software on your PC the software will need to make a one-time connection to the Internet to unlock the software and register it to you. Until this is done, the software will remain in 'demo' state. As software piracy is, unfortunately, a significant concern for a small company like ours, the software has internal controls to prevent it from being installed on excessive numbers of devices and has other protection safeguards to help us identify infringing users. Such limits should not adversely affect, much less be noticed by, ordinary users. However, if you find yourself running into any limits due to unusual circumstances, you may contact us via our helpdesk to enquire. While we will endeavor to be reasonable and generous by which we mean we will generally have no problem with extending any built in limitations as long as the basic terms of license (that the software is being used by a single user, the original purchaser only) are adhered to, please understand also that our decisions on this will be the final ones.
- While we have gone to great lengths to make as clear as possible that this is a large (but for many people manageable) amount of data to download, we suspect that nevertheless there will be somebody who will purchase this without a sufficient internet connection. We have tested the full download from beta tester machines in the USA, the UK, France, Ukraine, and Australia and have found that our servers are more than adequate for the purpose of delivering the sofware and run fine. That said, should our systems be unable to deliver the software to you due to a developed technical fault on our end for an extended period of time (more than 48 working hours), we reserve at our discretion to send you a DVD-ROM of the software to you, when it becomes available, in lieu of providing you the download service. However, should we determine that the problem in downloading is not caused by our servers, but by a technical or network limitation at your end, we reserve the right to offer you (or NOT to offer you) the option of purchasing the equivalent data on DVD-ROM. Due to the additional complications and technical service time required in sending a DVD-ROM to download customers who have been unable to download, there will be a $15 fee to the customer in such cases which must be paid befor the DVD is sent out. The decision of whether a given user is unable to download the data due to a technical fault on our end or the user's end is solely at the judgment of Dauntless Aviation.
- Unless one of the above exceptions should occur to you, you are NOT purchasing a CD-ROM / DVD-ROM or any other physical media here, and so no product will be arriving at your physical mailing address. In most cases, your unlock code will arrive in your email inbox within moments.
