REQUIREMENTS FS2004

Indianapolis 2005 covers photorealistically all the city of Indianapolis and sorrounding area (about 3500 kms), which includes cities like Greenwood, Noblesville, Shelbyville, Carmel, Fishers among others.

Never a scenery for this city and its main airport has been done, at least none of its dimensions. It tries to match the real thing and how this area looks like in real life as close as possible. Here goes a list of what this scenery does include.

  1. Photoreal terrain textures made of 4.8m/px. aerial images. Covering around 3500 kms of Indianapolis and sorroundings.
  2. Photoreal seasonal textures.
  3. Photoreal night textures
  4. A complete representation of Indianapolis airport KIND which includes:
  5. All the airport terminals (International main terminal, Fedex, etc.).
  6. Dynamic Jetways in main terminal and ex United Facility Hub (frequency controlled).
  7. Terminal ground facility vehicles in both, main terminal as well as in Fedex cargo area (frequency controlled).
  8. All the airport hangars, most of them with frequency controlled opening doors
  9. Taxiway and runway signage
  10. Both the current and the new control tower (which in real life is aimed to be commissioned in 2005).
  11. Static objects
  12. Dynamic scenery (airport ground vehicles as well as cars coming and going away from the airport drop off area.
  13. Real buildings and vegetation around the airport zone (hotels, industrial, etc.) making you feel like being there.
  • Almost all of the town's real buildings of 12 and more stories as well as many of those of less than 12 stories.
  • Famous landmarks all around the city. (Soldiers & Sailors monument, Artsgarden, Indianapolis speedway, Indiana Statehouse etc.)
  • Bridges over the White river.
  • Autogen scenery of buildings and vegetation in Indianapolis and sorrounding cities (each building manually placed in their correct positions, trying to match the real location of each one and architecture of the zone). It has been made in a way that doesn´t affect frame rates seriously.

~System Requirements

  • Pentium 4 2.2 GHz
  • 512 MB RAM DDR
  • 800 MB of available space on the hard disk
  • Sound card
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004
  • Adobe Acrobat® Reader 5 to read and/or print the manual
  • 3D video board with 128MB of RAM and a 1GHz CPU are highly recommended (For example something like a GeForce Ti 4400 128MB)

The following pictures show a little more precisely what Indianapolis 2005 looks like, after all they say an image is worth a thousand words.

I, personally, was flabbergasted that FS2004's Indianapolis actually had the Bank One tower right out of the box. Indy is very much ignored, not nearly as "sexy" to model as, say, New York or Chicago. Suffice it to say, as a former longtime resident of India-no-place, I was stunned to find this product. It is a magnificent version of Indianapolis! The city/county buidling is there, Union Station, check, hell you can read the lettering on the First Indiana building. I can't say enough good things about this, I've never seen Indy modelled so well! Even the buildings up at Keystone at the Crossing are up there where they're supposed to be!
I haven't had any framerate issues at all.
As for the ground textures, they look like low-res screengrabs from Google Earth or something. I wish they were higher res, but they're still good, could still spot my old apartment building, good ol' Ben Davis High School, my buddy's house and more.
Awesome product--it's obvious the creators truly know the subject they modelled. Any chance you'll ever do Austin, Texas?

A nice attempt at Indianapolis, However this is the only scenery that really killed my frame rates. P4 3.2 ghz with Radeon 9800 pro and 2GB of RAM.
The high point of the scenery is the moving jetways. The moving vehicles around the plane do not look realistic at all and add to the frame rate loss. Also the runway and taxi way pavement are no better then the original FS.
I would rate the scenery below average compared to FlyTampa and SimFlyers.
I wouldn't buy it unless you absolutely had to have Indianapolis.
