Simply a must for the serious Flightsimmer. perfect calculation once you have a performance file for a aircraft. It blends pefect with ISGSIM Avionics.
Thank you for bringing joy back to the Flightsim World!.

I recently purchased a very expensive aircraft add-on, and wanted a flight planner that was very professional. I have been using other flight planner software and online, but nothing beats FSBUILD.
Initially I thought this was a waste of money, but within a few minutes, it has suddenly grown on me. I didn't realise when purchasing that it creates a navlog (a 'real-life' looking flight plan)!
I understood that it can import winds aloft, so I also decided to purchase ActiveSky v6. FSbuild will import the winds from ActiveSky, work out the wind component on each leg, and adjust fuel accordingly!
I worked out that I probably do around 100 flights per year, and this works out at around 20 pence (£0.20 pound sterling) a flight. You would be a fool not to invest in FSbuild.

Nothing makes flight planning easier than Ernie's FSBUILD. From SID/STARs and NAT tracks to fuel planning FSBUILD is always reliable and accurate. hands down the best flight planning tool available today and Ernie always provides excellent support.

FSBuild is undoubtably the best planner I have ever used. I fly Delta virtual every day of the week, 3 or 4 flights per day and FSBuild is my lifeline. I coulnd't go a day without it. Every day...Every flight. Thanks Ernie!!!

FSBUILD 2.0 is an indespensible Flight Planning tool. Well worth the money.
I use the program for each and every flight. I print out the NAVLOG after I've imported the weather, and use it to crosscheck my fuel burn and my ETE.
I also use FSNavigator as a visual aid/map display tool - but FSBUILD is a true FLIGHT PLANNER, calculating J Routes, DEP's, ARR's, etc.
If you're serious about planning your flights, FSBUILD is the ticket.

Well, it can definitely do a lot. But I think this program is only for the very dedicated, hardcore FS addict.
Not user friendly.
Not intuitive.
Requires way too much configuration.
I am still learning it, so I am probably a bit frustrated over it's complexity.
If you have FS Navigator, take a long hard look at whether you need FSBuild. I will take FS Navigator over FSBuild any day.

This program is a great flight planner that can generate a large number of plans between well known airports. It can also convert them into formats suitable for a range of FS add-ons and it can also collect flight plans from various websites. It is very useful in generating and categorising large numbers of flight plans along with various details like altitudes and fuel planning. Its main drawbacks are: a bad looking map, lacking info on adjacent navigational info, no ILS or bearing information (even though SID and STARS are included) and it ignores smaller airports and landing strips. I am hoping that FSBUILD can be made to include the above in the future, making it a truly master planner.

With FS Navigator unavailable, I was looking for a similar product to support my complex simulation.
FSBUILD can do indeed a lot, but its handling is fairly complicated in some cases and much less inituitive than older FSNAV. It took me a while, for example to export the flightplan - it works, but you simpy need to get under the skin of the program. this is why you see in the (well supported) forum, why people have often similar problems.
For what it does, I find it overpriced and is overcomplicated where it doesnt need to be.

Ok, first off, this is a fairly well written program, and it does in fact do flight planning, but, even given that, I can't say it's worth the investment.
I tried it for use with both X-Plane 7.10 and MS Flight Simulator 2002 and 2004. X-Plane had the biggest problem. Once I got it to export the flight plan, and put it in the right folder, it was in the wrong format for use with X-Plane. Rather curious as it claims to be compatible. Perhaps with an earlier version, I don't know, but I have my doubts that the flight plan format was changed. At any rate, I was unable to successfully use it for X-Plane.
It worked fine for MSFS, both 2002 and 2004, but, to be honest, it does not have the fuctionality to make it any better than the native MSFS flight planner. It essentially does the exact same thing, and, in some cases, I had to change the plan in MSFS flight planner so that it would start from a gate as opposed to a runway threshold. Annoying, but still functional.
A better program, with significantly more functionality for MSFS 2002/04 (though, alas, not X-Plane), is FSNavigator. Not only does FSNav integrate with MSFS, it also is used as a replacement to the native flight planner and GPS and can control the autopilot functions.
Overall, this is a decent flight planner, but only if that's all you want.

Having recently purchased the Level D 767 I needed to get a serious Flight Planning tool.
Firstly I tried evaluation version of FS Navigator and found it's user interface "user hostile"
Downloading and starting to use FS Build things looked more promising other than I am a "map" kind of person and likes to look at the route I intend to fly. The graphics on my Commorode 64 two decades ago where better.
Does it do flight planning - well YES, however if you are used to looking at a map or enjoy using a map give this one a wide berth it's not for you.
