"Welcome to McMurdo Base, Antarctica. This is a true wilderness for pilots, a place of great challenge and adventure where only the most skilled pilot will survive the weather, climate and conditions. Antarctica is very poorly represented in FSX but this is your chance to begin to change that! MISSION ANTARCTICA - McMURDO SCENERY + MISSIONS will give you detailed and engaging scenery for the main McMurdo Base in Antarctica, but also a secondary, smaller "North Encampment", as well as three other areas in the region, to discover and explore. As well as the scenery, you are provided with two highly engaging missions to challenge your flying skills. These are not just flights with the mission compass - these missions contain lot's of audio, instructions, recorded ATIS, actions you need to take, and given the weather in Antarctica, possible the odd aircraft system failure!
Try the missions, then make your own adventures from McMurdo base - try to find the Halvorsen Marine Observation Encampment and watch the whales surfacing in the sea! Head North to see if you can find the Tynedale Antarctic Communications Centre, with it's satellite dishes.

Please note this product does not aim to provide an exact representation of the McMurdo Station region, although the camps and locations have been modelled to reflect typical scale and features of such encampments.
This product will be followed by further expansions in Antarctica, allowing you to eventually fly across many scenery areas in this wild and white wilderness!
There is one huge benefit to flying in Antarctica is FSX - Frame Rates! Because their is so little default scenery, frame rate performance in FSX is generally very high, so you can concentrate your PC's resources on weather, etc. |
