Through the Rhine Valley and Surselva to the spring of the Rhine! Enjoy the unique mountain scenery of the Swiss Alps on a spectacular train ride with the world famous Glacier Express through an ever changing and fascinating landscape between Chur and Disentis. "The slowest fast train of the world" with its new rolling stock colors will inspire you!

Landquart - Chur - Disentis

The route branches off the Albulabahn shortly after the Rhine bridge near Reichenau and then follows the valley of the Rhine. Here the "Grand Canyon of Switzerland" awaits you in all its beauty. In this fantastic canyon you will ride amidst towering rocks reaching for the skies.

Rolling along the abstract sculptures of nature you will then reach Disentis dominated by its baroque twin towers of the Benedictine Monastery since 1695. The route is frequented on an hourly basis and serviced by regional trains. Four fast train pairs run on the service, all Glacier Express trains which traction units of Ge 4/4 I, Ge 4/4 II and a Ge 4/4 III. Heavy good trains use a Ge 6/6 II. A necessary change of locomotives in Disentis makes this a very interesting and challenging station.
