Cook Strait divides the North and South Islands of New Zealand, and this special compilation combines the two Real New Zealand sceneries which border the Strait -- Wellington and Marlborough -- into the single largest photoreal scenery (approx 7,500 square kilometres) in New Zealand, and includes 5 custom, photoreal airports -- Wellington International, Paraparaumu, Woodbourne, Omaka and Picton.
Included are 3 FSX Missions designed specifically for the Real New Zealand scenery, courtesy of the ARNZX website.
I've thrilled to be able to work with ARNZX to produce what will hopefully be the first of many quality FSX projects, combining 'Real New Zealand' scenery with ARNZX's quality aircraft paints, addons and missions.
ARNZX is New Zealand's premier FSX website and online forum. Although they cover all aspects of FSX, they specialise in aircraft repaints, with a huge number of local and overseas repaints for the default and other FSX aircraft.
The map here shows the coverage of the photoreal scenery. 'Across the Strait'.
NOTE: 'Across the Strait' includes the FSX versions of the Real New Zealand scenery only.
The included missions will be available as a free download from the ARNZX site for those who already own the 'Real New Zealand' Wellington and Marlborough.
For a short time only, anyone who already owns a single scenery from the compilation -- either Real NZ Wellington or Real NZ Marlborough -- may purchase the compilation for half price.
Please note, however, that there is an addition to the End User License Agreeement, which you must agree to when you purchase 'Across the Strait.' This addition states: 'If you have purchased 'Across the Strait' at a special price, because you already own one of the included scenery products, you have not purchased an additional license to use that particular scenery -- the license to use that particular scenery will simply transfer to the 'Across the Strait' version. This means that you may not sell or otherwise distribute the original scenery file.'
NOTE: The included aircraft repaints need to be installed separately, and require some manual editing of the aircraft.cfg files. However there are full instructions given, and the process is relatively simple. The missions each have their own auto installer.
The missions -- and aircraft repaints -- are available as freeware, and I wish to thank the folk at ARNZ-X for allowing me to include these in the scenery release.
