Flight Deck 5 delivers the thrills and excitement of taking off and landing on a working flight deck: the nerve wracking adrenalin rush of authentic deck operations with AI traffic on and above the carrier.
Based in the Bay of Bengal, the English Channel, the South Pacific, Coastal San Diego and the Persian Gulf, the USS Gerald R Ford is the host for all your launch and recovery operations. But remember, mastering the use of the powerful catapult to get you airborne and the tail hook to bring you to a screeching halt is just the beginning. You’ll also need to become skilled at flying the following seven aircraft:
• F/A-18C HornetTM
• F/A-18E Super HornetTM
• E-2C Hawkeye
• S-3B Viking
• SH-60 Seahawk
• C-2A Greyhound
• EA-6B Prowler
Flight Deck 5’s technology updates include (FSX) a moving aircraft carrier, missions, super accurate launch and recovery using 3WireX technology & (FS 2004) Static carrier, simplified catapult/recovery operations and 200 pre-saved flights. Flight Deck 5’s (FSX) special animation updates include (Aircraft): HUD, tail hook, folding wings, cowl flaps and afterburners; (Aircraft Carrier): Navaids, AFD, AI traffic and wake effects.
