Hong Kong International Airport is the main airport in Hong Kong, People's Republic of China. It is colloquially known as Chek Lap Kok Airport (赤鱲角機場), because it was built on the island of Chek Lap Kok by land reclamation, and also to distinguish it from its predecessor, the closed Kai Tak Airport. The airport opened for commercial operations in 1998, replacing Kai Tak, and is an important regional trans-shipment centre, passenger hub and gateway for Mainland China and destinations across the world. Despite a relatively short history, Hong Kong International Airport is consistently voted the world's best in terms of design and passenger comfort.
The airport features custom made runways, terminal buildings rendered to 5cm per pixel scale, an interactive docking system to park you right on your mark, taxiways with highly realistic concrete textures, full airport taxiway and runway signage, 3D approach lighting and full ILS navigation. There are hundreds of airport vehicles and ground personnel, aircraft can be found parked at custom textured parking positions, all hangers, cargo and airport auxiliary buildings are modelled.
In addition to all of this, VHHH looks stunning after dark with beautifully lit buildings and parking areas. Complete airport taxiway and runway lighting is also included.

I found this product very good and excellent performance on my system. I think it really makes a big difference to the default VHHH. |

Being a HK citizen, I would love to see this addons after FlyTampa's old HK airport. Imagine Sim VHHH is a nice touch compared to the default one. However, a few things need improvements:
1) It affects framerates quite a bit even though the scenery is not that complex;
2) The object quality is a bit low;
3) If the nearby Tung Chun town could be modified accordingly, it would be great. Now it is not.
4) If the Big Buddha status on the Lantau island could be included, I believe many HK flightsimmers wouldn't be hesitate to get a copy of this software.

I think the quality of this product is a little inferior compared with another airport sceneries.
ATC lost all ILS approaches. (The wave can be received.)
The gate numbers are incomplete.
MipMaps is effective too much and a runway is not visible in approach.
PAPI is not helpful daytime.
However, new VHHH has only this one for FSX. |
