In early March 2010, we released the Diamond DA-40 Diamond Star XLS to the flight simulation community. Apart from a few minor issues, the aircraft was very well received by our customer base.

However, that being said, it was quite obvious from the outset that our customers wanted just one more plane from the Diamond stable, the twin engine Diamond DA-42 Twin Star.

This product is a direct response from our fantastic customers who asked for a Twin Star to accompany their Diamond Star product.

Those who have purchased the DA-40 Diamond Star XLS product will find little problem slipping behind the stick of this fantastic light aircraft. The aircraft shares a similar cockpit layout with the Diamond Star making transition an easy and painless process.

Those who haven’t had the enjoyment of the DA-40 will still find the Twin Star to be an enjoyable aircraft, easy to fly and forgiving for the pilot.

With fantastic fuel consumption and range, this aircraft is perfect for anything from short to long distance trips!

Das ist ein super dingen :-D !!! Die Twin Star geht ab wie ein Rasenmäher! Besonders beim starten ist der Sound perfekt.

ich kann nur sagen obergeil !!!! lohnt sich auf jedenfall !!! wunderschöne texturen, läuft super !! ich denke ganz klar ein konkurent für carenado und flight1 !!. eine super umsetzung !

Optik und Soundkulisse auf jeden Fall super gelungen.
Bei der Avionik gibts jedoch kleinere Probleme. Das Flugzeug verfügt nicht über Anzeigen für Propellersteuerung und Gemischverstellung. Diese läßt sich jedoch über Tasten und Achsen verstellen sodas man hier auch mal blindlings nachschauen sollte was grad eingestellt ist, falls der Motor nicht anspringt oder Vorschub fehlt.
Ich bin kein Pilot und kann nur mit dem vergleichen was ich von anderen virtuellen Fluggerätschaften kenne. Hab mir das Flugzeug wegen der schönen Aussicht aus dem CP und dem guten Handling gekauft, das ich von der "Digital-Aviation DA-20 Katana" gewohnt bin. Bis auf die Aussicht bin ich aber enttäuscht. Das Fliegen selbst ist vollkommen in Ordnung, aber Starten und Landen sind grausig. Vor allem für die Landung braucht man viel zu lange Anflüge und Pisten. Das Problem hierbei sind vor allem fehlende Bremsmöglichkeiten die dem sehr guten Gleitwert entgegenstehen. Es gibt weder Störklappen noch Schubumkehr und auch die Flaps bremsen zu wenig. Das Problem setzt sich nach dem Aufsetzen fort, da auch die Radbremsen absolut unterirdisch reagieren.
Ein besonders seltsames Phänomen ist hierbei die Propellersteuerung. Sollte diese auf ganz "steil" gestellt sein (in der Baron wäre der Regler ganz zum Piloten herangezogen, also Minimum), ist der Vortrieb im Standgas plus den "Groundeffeke" so groß das die Räder die Landebahn nie berühren und man einfach immer weiter über die Bahn hinwegschwebt. Es empfielt sich daher darauf zu achten die Propeller auf Maximum noch vorn zu schieben und kurz vorm Aufsetzen die Motoren auszuschalten.
Mein Fazit: für Gebirgs- und Buschpiloten absolut ungeeignet. Die Standard Beech-Baron kann da mehr leisten.
