Miami International airport is the most important airport in the state of Florida, and is the 24th airport by passenger traffic in the world. It is known to be a gateway to Latin America with its significant number of flights to and from the region. The airport was built in 1928 as the Pan American Field, the Operating base for Pan American Airways. The City of Miami bought the Airport from Pan Am in 1945 and renamed it Miami International Airport.

The Original Terminal built in 1928 was torn down in 1959 when a New Modern Terminal opened up. The Terminal built in 1959 has since been greatly expanded to 6 Concourses.
