Nemeth Designs/MILVIZ - Bell UH-1 Huey for Flight Simulator X

The US Army's first operational turboshaft-powered helicopter, the Bell UH-1 "Huey", would prove one of the most successful rotorcraft in history, with over 16,000 built. The Huey was and remains a common sight in many of the world's military forces, and still is in first-line service in the US Marines.

The UH-1C (Model 204) was introduced in September 1965, but only about 766 were built, since by that time Bell was getting ready to introduce the optimized AH-1 "HueyCobra" gunship, which was based on UH-1C technology. Huey gunships remained in service in Vietnam up to the end of the war, though that was mainly due to the fact that there weren't enough Cobras to replace them.

An Improved version of the UH-1C is the UH-1D (Model 205) that can be easily distinguished from the Model 204 by the fact that the side doors had two windows, not one, and its skids were mounted at an angle that gave the UH-1D a nose-up attitude on the ground. The UH-1D led to the improved "UH-1H", which is generally similar, but was fitted with the more powerful engine as well as avionics for night and bad-weather operation, and a radio navigation system.

This addon represents the UH-1C and the UH-1H variants.

Being a huge Huey fan, this is a beautiful model. In my case, a couple of things that really make this helicopter great are having a descent computer to run it without losing frame rates and using TrakIR. Yes, the instruments are blurry but I’m sure there is a fix somewhere. I’m not worried at this time.
I found a couple of re-paints for the model and my favorite is the US Army medivac. I can seriously say that this is one of my favorite FSX helos to fly. Thank you for such a great product.

Actually, in my opinion, this is best helicopter to fly with in fsx, it is really heavy in frame rates but great vc (if it is blurry try to set dx10 on) and fantastic sound.

Its a great product in every way other than being a bit heavy on frame rates on my system compared to many other products.
Love the sound and the VC is very impressive.

This chopper is a disappointment. The UH-1H guages are blurry. This is not so with the D. It is very choppy to fly. Framerates are the worst of any of my FSX aircraft. This makes hovering extremely difficult. The exterior textures on the H model resemble that of a crayon colorouing job by a 4 year old kid. I fly the CH-53 by Nemeth and it is a far superior product. It is clear the Huey was released prematurely. My only hope is that a patch will soon follow. This product tarnishes Nemeth's reputation.

Great visual modeling, however, I would not again invest any money in a helicopter model that flies using similar aerodynamic characteristics as that of MS flightsim's. It's very unrealistic and gives the player an illusion far different from an actual aircraft. Unless this design employs a better flight dynamics, it's hard to recommend it.
