Lanseria Airport was conceptualised during 1972 by two Pretoria pilots, Fanie Haacke and Abe Sher when they identified the ideal site for an airport.

Lanseria Airport is located northwest of the city of Johannesburg, some 38 Km (23.5 Mi) from Johannesburg's main International Airport, OR Thambo. Lanseria International Airport can handel aircraft up to a Boeing 757-300 or an Airbus A319 and is served by the local airlines of kulula.com, Mango Airlines and the South African subsidiary of Britsh Airways opeated by Comair.
