Supronov Design Yakovlev 40 | fs2004.co.uk SD (formerly SCDS) have been around a while plugging away with their product the Yak 40 – the real aircraft coincidentally having its 40th birthday
FlightSim.Com Review: Yakovlev Yak-40 I think unlike any other Soviet project I’ve used I’ve actually been able to get into it and feel involved, helped also by the fact this plane had a host of new technology and was much simpler to operate. Due to this I think it has a wide audience from vintage jet flyers, those with an inclination for the Russian, those stepping up to passenger aircraft or those perhaps scared off by the likes of PMDG and FeelThere or Project Tupolev or Samdim’s An-24 due to the overwhelming modern/Soviet complexity. This simulation is like the real plane both for obvious reasons and in spirit. It’s not trying too hard and it does the job convincingly. Performing a full flight is rewarding while not having a serious learning curve.

Superb!! I've flown over 10 hours now in this little beauty and I am very, very satisfied. If you want a fairly cheap, well produced russian commuter then look no further. If I could I'd give it more stars!!

A superb addon of a very different type of aircraft for those of us in the U.S. The detail and animations are stunning (be sure to look at the reflectors spinning in the beacons) and the flight model I can only assume to be very accurate (kind of like a flying truck). Drop those massive flaps and the huge soft field gear and it will practically crawl to the runway! Installation and registration were quick and easy and SD has a nice forum if you need it. If you are tired of the same old thing-go for this one you'll love it!

A great reproduction but unfortunately the full version is extremely demanding on resources and struggles even on my fairly powerful setup with resultant long loading times and poor FPS, so I usually end up just flying the lite version

Now I am able to fly theYAK-40 my disappointment just gets worse.
The downloaded version has faults that a patch already covers according to the SD website but it won't allow any downloads. the page has an error!
Why was I able to buy V2.0 when the developer already had a later version?
I have only been able to fly this for 1 hour but have found many bugs.
My advice to anyone would be to wait for a few weeks and then buy the improved version.
It is a bit like Feelthere aircraft when they first get released - not so good im sad to say.
