“The Train Giant” is an exciting mixture of city building and traffic management simulation.
As CEO of a train company the player has to operate positively by erecting businesses and expanding the railway network.
Through the expansion of freight and passenger traffic more and more Companies will become customers.
In this way a small town will change into a prosperous city.
The player has to manage all the details, from the timetable to the expansion of the rail network, to be a railway superstar.

Update to above they have now placed the English Manual onto the site so will download but have to say that was a quick response on UIGs part and I have to say a quick response is always a good sign a developer is listening to its players.
So Gratz UIG looking forward to playing this fully over the weekend. |

Addition - The options available in the config application are mostly accessible in game removing the issue for that. HOWEVER. The PDF manual - (which is in English) is not nearly detailed enough for those new to the series. The HTML manual is only available in German. Be warned, If you have not played this series before you may have some difficulty getting to grips with it. The simple expedient of translating the (much more detailed) HTML manual would resolve this issue. The option to open the HTML document (that is accessible in game) opens a "German language only" version. Come on chaps - lets's have this sorted out. This is an excellent game - but you're going to need to ship with a finished product - documentation is vital. |

Good game - but the main HTML manual is entirely in German and the site mentioned by the previous reviewer has been down for days.
The configuration menu (a separate file in the install folder) is entirely in Japanese except for the ability to change resolution and choose windowed or none windowed.
This is a very coplex game and newcomers will need the HTML manual to stand a chance.
Great game - let down by poor localization. I hope it's sorted out soon |

Just downloaded this game thinking it looks great and as the options says German,English i found after downloading it that all the installation files were in German so i checked again and there is no English zip file to download so i sent an email of to SimMarket, i then went back to see what the situation was since i had installed it anyway. There is an option in German text on the right to change the language which i did and it translates all the options to English so my initial thoughts where yaaaaaa.
I then clicked on manual to read up what i am suppose to be doing and low and behold its in German with no visible option to change it to English so as of now i can play but have no idea what i am doing.
On a plus the graphics are excellent and it does look like it will be a great game when they have ironed out the small problems.
I gave this a 4**** but would be 5 if installation was easier and the booklet had a downloaded format for English too. |
