I Am An Air Traffic Controller 3 - Tokyo Big Wing (ATC3) is a very unique air traffic simulation for the PC. This is a one-of-a-kind program that allows the user to experience many facets of air traffic control. From clearance delivery, to ground control, to tower controller and then approach/departure controller, this heart-pounding simulation is the ultimate experience for the true ATC enthusiast!

The I Am An Air Traffic Controller series has been very successful in Japan for many years. aerostudios has teamed with Technobrain to bring this English version of series 3 to the rest of the world. This is one of the finest air traffic simulations on the market today.

Features:

  • GAMEPLAY-INTERFACE: Technobrain has created one of the most unique interfaces for air traffic simulation. This system allows the user to simply click on a flight strip and have it flip to the backside where a host of options are presented as command buttons. Once the user decides what type of control action is needed, he/she simply clicks on the corresponding button to issue the instruction. The pilot will respond accordingly. Not clumsy typing of text-based commands. Once the traffic levels increase, time is of great importance in successfully completing the scenarios.
  • AIRPORT MODELING: Technobrain has painstakingly recreated the Tokyo International Airport for this simulation. Well known landmarks can be seen from the control tower, as well as from the air. Airport facility vehicles are also depicted accurately such as tow cars and baggage carriers.
  • AIRPORT REVIEW: ATC3 also includes a historical perspective of the Tokyo International Airport making the game educational as well.
  • CAMERA VIEWS: ATC3 provides the user with a large assortment of camera viewing capabilities. The user can view from the control tower, the ends of every runway, certain fixed points outside of the airport and also an aircraft tracking view. These options allow for viewing from any angle that supports air traffic control objectives.
  • 2 LEVELS OF PLAY: There are 2 game levels, NORMAL and EXPERT. During NORMAL gameplay, route assignments are automatic when issuing clearances. EXPERT mode will require the user to select the correct route SID/STAR appropriate for their arrival and destination airports. Although the simulation will not allow you to make a mistake, it will impact your score. With each level there are 6 stages that one must complete. Each stage offers a scenario covering different aspects of air traffic control such as arrivals, departures, inclement weather, emergencies, and nightime activities. You can repeat these stages as often as you wish, and change your control actions providing an endless array of outcomes to your efforts.
  • TAXIWAY ASSIGNMENTS: One of the crucial functions of a controller is to prevent collisions on the ground as well as in the air. As the ground controller, choosing a taxiway is as easy as clicking on a map.
  • AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TUTORIALS: ATC3 comes complete with a series of tutorials covering every aspect of gameplay and air traffic control procedures.
  • RECORDING/PLAYBACK: During gameplay, a recording is created of the session. Once complete, you can rename the file and save it for viewing and/or for repeating. At any time during playback, you can resume control of the session and complete it to its ending. This will allow you to correct a possible mistake made during the previous session, and/or decide to take completely different control actions.
  • TERMINAL GATE ASSIGNMENTS: ATC3 comes complete with a series of tutorials covering every aspect of gameplay and air traffic control procedures.
  • AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TUTORIALS: Although aircraft will already be parked at terminal gates or `spots` as they are called in ATC3, it is your job to move traffic on the ground to the locations assigned on their flight strip. If a particular spot is not available, you can assign a new spot to avoid a collision. No need to simply `delete` an aircraft when you make this mistake. You will be forced to start over when that happens.
  • AIRPORT VIEWING APPLICATION: You can also view the airport and explore using the Airport viewer. You can experiment with the time of day to see how the airport will appear.
