Turbine Sound Studios proudly presents the HD version of the Boeing 747 RR RB211-524 soundpack for FSX recorded in HD High definition.

We had to record sounds from various Boeing 747`s aircrafts in different countries, to create this soundpackage.
All enginesounds are recorded in TSS HD audioquality for maximum clarity and detail, then compiled to meet the FSX sound specification.

Although originally designed for the L-1011-1, Rolls-Royce knew that the RB211 could be developed to provide greater thrust.
By redesigning the fan and the IP compressor, Hooker's team managed to increase the engine's thrust to 50,000 lbf (220 kN).
The new version was designated RB211-524, and would be able to power new variants of the L-1011, as well as the Boeing 747.

Rolls-Royce had tried without success to sell the RB211 to Boeing in the 1960s, but the new -524 offered significant performance and efficiency improvements over the Pratt & Whitney JT9D which Boeing had originally selected to power the 747.
In October 1973 Boeing agreed to offer the RB211-524 on the 747-200, and British Airways became the first airline to order this combination which entered service in 1977.
Rolls continued to develop the -524, increasing its thrust through 51,500 lbf (229,000 N) with the -524C, then 53,000 lbf (240 kN) in the -524D which was certificated in 1981.
Notable airline customers included Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Cargolux and South African Airways.
When Boeing launched the larger 747-400 still more thrust was required, and Rolls responded with the -524G rated at 58,000 lbf (260 kN) thrust and then the -524H with 60,600; these were the first versions to feature FADEC.
The -524H was also offered as a third engine choice on the Boeing 767, and the first of these entered service with British Airways.

I would like to congratulate the group for the new release, good job as this is definitely a huge improvement from the previous sceneries, it was a long-awaited scenery for the airport since the very old freeware that was around since the early days of FSX, unfortunately the ground texturing and night lighting are very poor to my taste and does not meet now days texturing quality level, the photoreal was not enhanced and if so it is unnoticeable, I hope this will be improved in future updates.

For a scenery that was released in 2013, the graphics are great. You won't find six parallel runways at this airport, as the airport was still undergoing construction at the time that the scenery was developed and released, and thus some of the parallel runways that are there today didn't exist back then. If you're looking for an accurate scenery based on the airport layout today, this scenery is not for you. Otherwise, I would highly recommend it.

This is a very good scenery in my opinion. The wheels burnt marks on the runway and the animated jetways are some very good touch. As this scenery is released in 2012, the new international terminal (with jetways) is still not there, but as I said before, it's a 2012 scenery. Really hope they make a v2 of this scenery and really looking forward to their new ZBAA which, from the previews, looks nice. Keep up the good work!

ZINERTEK - HD VIRTUAL COCKPIT FOR LEVEL-D 767 FSX P3D

A really nice update to an old yet classic bird! Even after all these years, the Level-D 767 is a joy to fly especially now that it's finally compatible with P3D. However, as the years have gone by, the cockpit has always left a lot to be desired. This is where Zinertek's offering really comes into play to update the outdated graphics inside the virtual cockpit. The first thing you will notice is the new ESHI and EICAS glass instruments. A very nice touch especially when zooming in as you can see details such as dust and smudges on the screens! The night lighting effects are fantastic and look every bit as good as the screenshots. I will agree with David that the overhead panel does not seem to have a huge improvement when you compare the rest of the cockpit but this is apparently due to the technical limitations of this old aircraft as stated by Zinertek in the Avsim forums. That being said, it's not a big setback for me as it doesn't detract a whole lot from the rest of the improvements this product offers. All in all, it's well worth the money.

Not the greatest upgrade in the world, and I feel they should have re-rendered the text labels on the overhead, rather than leaving them as 'dot matrix' style. However, it is a subtle improvement and the new PFD/EHSI/EICAS screens are quite a big improvement, with glass reflections and some smudging. Overall, if you're a Level D 767 afficionado, it's worth the price, to subtley improve this old but still beautiful complex airliner.

I'd first like to say thank you to the developer for creating my humble home airport! However I do have some constructive criticism for them just from looking at the screenshots. The control tower isn't accurately modeled. There are several images of the real tower online. Runway 15-33 isn't properly marked. Both ends of the runway is marked as a non-precision approach runway with threshold and touchdown zone markings only. Once again thank you for developing my home airport and I hope to see these changes made to create a more true to like Syracuse!
