REQUISITOS FS2002 FS2004

The Channels Islands are situated west of the Brest peninsular in northern France, but are a part of the UK. The biggest island is Jersey and its airport serves most UK cites, France and many european countries. Second biggest is Guernsey with its famous glass houses which covers 15% of the land.

Guernsey's airport is about half as busy Jersey but maintains a busy network of passenger and freight flights. Finally there Alderney who's airport is mainly grass, it has regular flights using Aurigny Trilanders and Sh360. There are many smaller islands like Herm and Sark which are also represented.

The Shareware version includes terrain meshing with the airports ON TOP of the hills!, and the visual effect of sitting on top of a hill is pretty good, the effect is greatest at Alderney.

Airfield List:

    • EGJA Alderney
    • EGJJ Jersey
    • EGJB Guernsey

Features:

  • Terrain model uses specific textures for all areas(optional)
  • All buildings accurately modeled and textured
  • Some Hangers doors open and close
  • Taxiway/stand markings that are realistic
  • BRITISH runway markings
  • Very detailed holding points with guard lights (Wig Wags)
  • Aircraft guidance 'AGNIS' boards at EGJJ
  • 'Mike' the Marshaller at all airports
  • Unique Radars
  • Night lighting affects and transparent terminal glass
  • Airport vehicles
  • Perimeter fencing, walls, tress and bushes
  • Static and Light aircraft models

British runways markings are used in this scenery, which has a 12 bar threshold (piano), 2 digit runway ID (08 not 8), distance markers to UK specs, and a TDZ to uk specs. The 'AGNIS' at Jersey is not the actual one used, aircraft guidance systems vary from airport to airport, and the one used is the only one I had details of. 'Mike' the Marshaller can be found at all the airports and will attempt to guide you in to certain stands, being a trainee, Mike sometimes gets his arms waving the wrong way, but he's good for a laugh!
