The RS-11 was build by Alco in the early 1956 as a diesel electric locomotive and classified as a road switcher. With 1,800 hp, two axle trucks with B-B wheel arrangement the RS11 was Alco’s answer to the GP9 produced by EMD.

Advantages of the RS11 were faster acceleration because of turbo charging and a higher tractive effort rating. The locomotive could be found in heavy haul freight as well as passenger services.

In over eight years production time 425 units were build for the American and Mexican market. A few examples of this model are still in service and could be found working for various railroads in the US.

Operation

Operation is a usual with all driveable vehicles in Railworks Trainsimulator 2012/13.

Loadmeter

The Loadmeter shows you the current electric loading with the chosen regulator notch.

Dials

The four dials show you Booster Air Pressure, Lubricating Oil Pressure, Engine Water Temperature and Fuel Oil Pressure.
The needles show values with are calculated by LUA script.
The dials have no influence on the behaviour of the machine but give a little bit more realism to the cab.

Middle console

Gives you access to the Dynamic brake, the sander control, the reverser and the regulator.

Wiper control

You can start and stop all four wipers with the normal key in RW or you can switch on or off each wiper separately when you use the mouse and click on the wiper ( arrow ).

There are various switches controlling different functions:

Scenarios

The package includes 4 scenarios for the Horseshoe Curve route.

Cresson Shunter, 30 min, medium

You will be assembling an outgoing consist in this scenario.
It´s a cold winter’s day and the weather might turn to the bad ...

Short Freightrun, 35 min, easy

Starting at South Fork you will take a broken down freight train to Johnstown.
The weather is good and this should be an easy run to get familiar with the engine.

Night Run, 40 min, hard

You will deliver a heavy load from Altoona to Gallitzin.
It won´t be easy to keep your train under control, so be careful.

Unusual Job, 40 min, medium

A construction site in Cresson needs the daily supply of workers and materials.
You will bring a special train from Johnstown to Cresson.

Repaints

With an additional download you get the option to repaint the 3D models.
The download contains a Dump image which gives you an idea where the polygons of the 3D model are placed on the texture and a Shadow map which could be placed on top of your own texture creation to add shadows. Okay, so I think it's a pity that none so far has decided to come up with a nice and detailed representation of Newark's Liberty Airport. So I got very excited when I first heard that the talented Drzewiecki-team has been working on a brand new version of their New York Airport product. The fact that it includes Newark alone guaranteed I will go for it early on. The detail they packed in this is simply tremendous. You've got two separate products, each featuring three New York airports. This one represents the mighty Newark as a main airport as well as two smaller general aviation or business airfields, Linden and Essex County. The other one embraces two big guys, JFK and La Guardia as well as the busy business beast Teterboro. L-
et's see. The two smaller airports, although small in size, are equally stuffed full of fine details. We've got all kinds of nice clutters scattered across the airports, moving vehicles and people so the whole place comes to life. The ground textures are sharp and pleasant to look at although I still do miss volumetric grass from DD products. But it's nothing more than my personal preference. At least an option to have grass would be great. As said, the superb ground textures make up for it easily so worry you not. The buildings are nicely textured too and the modelling is top notch as is always the case with Drzewiecki's masterpieces and it's certainly no exception. The night lighting is amazing, makes the pilot feel become part of the scene... if they could somehow add the smell of avgas or jet fuel for even more immersion though... On a serious note, these two small airports are very addictive. Linden has grew on me so much I couldn't stop flying patterns in my Cessna 182 - make sure you enjoy the wonderful surroundings if you do so! So far only the busy airports of metropolitan NY came into mind and it's fantastic to now have the opportunity to fly out of and into smaller airfields of the city of the Big Apple. And then we've got Newark. Very, very happy with it. As mentioned, I was eagerly waiting for KEWR to finally appear and I am absolutely satisfied with how DD delivered it. Fine, crisp textures, excellent lighting, SODE jetways and all the little bits and bobs without FPS loss. NY is a demanding area by itself yet I easily maintained over 30 FPS in two of the most complex airliners with my sliders mostly to the far right. Occasionally I experienced some dip into the mid twenties but it's not an issue and appeared to have been momentary only. The whole thing is properly optimized and balanced. On the other hand, many things can be fine tuned via the installer such as texture resolution or the presence of static aircraft, just to name a few, should you wish to increase performance this way. If you wanted a Newark scenery, you can throw this in your cart right now and you'll love it for it is a great value for money. Three airports in one, all three looking gorgeous and performing extremely well, this product is another hit. Kudos for the Drzewiecki-fact-
ory for revisiting their old NY Airports and applying the DD magic, making it one of the best buys for me this year. Strong-
ly recommended!

It's alright, works fine in P3D v4... had to fix the gates, because all the parking spots by the terminal were set as regular GA... no gates were set at all for the airport... but I edited the AFCAD file and fixed the issue. I believe a couple gates are missing, too. According the the terminal map, there should be nine gates from what I can tell, and there were only seven around the terminal building... I was able to fit an eighth gate into the terminal area, but there's really no room for the last one unless the ground markings are changed. All and all, it's fine for the price. WIll likely purchase KMOB, KOKC, and KTUL in the near future...

WOW doesn't even describe it. Our cadets and staff have been flying the milvis tutor for several years now, and REAL tutors, and I recently upgraded our Sim to P3D v2.5, then installed this aircraft, with NO other addons or tweaks, and it has blown them all away. AEROSOFT - CRJ 700/900 X FSX P3D

It was definitely worth the wait. Good sounds, visuals, and textures. I know there are some issues at the present moment but the AS CRJ works great. There are a few differences from JR CRJ 200, ei, the NW switch that actually moves in the AS CRJ 700/900, startup and shutdown procedures are different to each aircraft. One thing I noticed is the fuel in the CRJ manager does not produce the accurate amount of fuel at times so some additional fuel is require via taxi or holding fuel section. This aircraft is very immersive and fun to fly.

*I own ORBX Global, Vector & OpenLC products that I wanted to enhance with this product* It Illuminates some of the main roads in Europe but not all of them. If you have ORBX Products you'll probably be disappointed. -
I like to fly performance hungry airplanes, wich is why I opted for the "low impact" version of Taburet's night lighting. I guess if you're flying GA or very basic aircraft you'd be better off with buying specific regions of Taburet's Night 3D and if you're like me and you fly FSL A320's or 777/747s AND you don't want to compromise performance, then you're better off with just the ORBX lighting and one click more LOD in my opinion.

I've just bought this scenery of faro airport and i love it well done to tropicalsim team on this scenery of faro i have faro with aerosoft i still love there products but tropicalsims faro is much more detailed landside and airside plus i have got a few more of tropicalsims scenery so i new this was going to be a very nice scenery of faro so once again well done to the tropicalsim team on a great airport scenery very happy :) ;)

Excellent. This is my home airport, so I was glad to see that it is for the most part accurate. Only down side is that the gates don't move, but everything else is good. Thanks for making MFE an FSX reality!

je viens d'installer cet avion et je suis extrêmement déçu.J'ai fêté cette année mes 40 ans de licence de pilote (réel) et je fais du simulateur depuis une vingtaine d'année. Outre la finition graphique du modèle qui est du niveau des premiers avions de FS9, le modèle de vol est particulièremen-
t bâclé. J'ai testé le décrochage en refusant de rendre la main. l'avion à continué de se cabrer même à vitesse zéro ! (vario négatif quand même) jusqu'à se mettre vertical !!!! jamais vu ça ! puis il a fini par entrer en vrille plate ! le vrai (suivant les modèles) parachuterait avec un fort vario négatif en devenant de plus en plus instable en roulis, mais vous ne maintiendrez jamais le nez au dessus de l'horizon en maintenant le manche au ventre. et vous ne le mettrez jamais dans ces conditions en position vertical. En virage à 60°, à 100 km/h et 2000 trs j'arrive encore à avoir un vario positif ! incroyable. Le modèle de vol (surtout au basse vitesse) est complètement loufoque et donc à l'atterrissage aussi...bizarre-
ment j'avais vu des critiques similaires sur celui de X-Plane et la modélisation ressemble beaucoup à celui de X-plane...En conclusion, cette avion est un pur produit commercial et ne convient pas du tout à un simmeur exigent ou un pilote réel qui veut poursuivre son entrainement à la maison.
