Due to restrictions placed on Germany following World War1, military aircraft production was prohibited, especially any type of bomber. In 1934, presented and disguised as an “airliner”, a prototype HE1-11 was designed and first flew on 24th. February 1935. It was immediately praised for its high speed capability.

Its advanced elliptical shapes of the control surfaces impressed Reginald Mitchell, the designer of the Supermarine Spitfire on a pre-war factory visit and was the inspiration for that most beautiful of aeroplane wings and in a touch of irony, a major contribution to the Spitfire’s domination of the skies across Europe and beyond.

Promoted as the fastest airliner in the World, with a top speed in excess of 250 MPH. , development of the design continued as a medium bomber as the dark clouds of war gathered and other manufacturers like Junkers and Dornier joined the drive to equip the Luftwaffe with the very best aircraft.

The early models saw combat duty in the Spanish Civil War with the Condor Legion. Later, a new nose section was designed almost entirely of perspex with narrow framework and fitted with a semi-spherical gun mount - “Ikara” at the very front of the aircraft. Thus, the instantly recognisable “Heinkel HE-111 shape” was born. This “P” variant is the one modelled in this simulation.

The Heinkel HE1-11 was used extensively in massed armadas in “Blitzkreig” - the lighting fast invasion of Europe. During the Blitz of London, the characteristic roar of the “phasing” engines was, perhaps one of the most feared sounds, heralding the arrival of that night’s attacks.

Unique features of the models:

- High Fidelity modelling in the exterior and interior ensure absolute accuracy and an uncommon amount of authentic detail including distinctive banded tyre treads and all correct decals and placards in German.
- Fully animated seat-raising feature which raises not only the seat but all the flying controls too. This feature is included in both interior and exterior models where the pilot is also raised. To accompany this, the special aero-screen and opening pilot top hatch are included.
- Authentic simulation of the hydraulic lock system for flaps and landing gear with animated, realistic springs and spring actions.
- Realistic bomb-drop sequences with characteristic tumbling bombs.
- Fully animated pilot, bomb-aimer/front gunner and dorsal gunner.
- Animated “Ikara” gun mount and ring can be operated in the cockpit (P3D and FSX) and exterior (P3D v4 only)
- Fully featured, correct engine start sequence.
- Authentic animations for all control surfaces and tabs, landing gear, tailwheel and much more
- All instruments are 3D modelled and include the working magnetic compass/course setter.
- Navigation radios are included with a “hidden” navigation RMI for those wishing to fly navigation routines. The Heinkel was fitted with a rudimentary autopilot which is also simulated.

PBR Workflow materials

The techniques used in the PBR models for P3DV4.4+ have been specially adapted to enhance the appearance of the aircraft when flying in FSX.

In-game options:

- A special configuration panel allows you to set up the aircraft for a “cold-dark” cockpit start sequence, and operate the bomb-doors and trigger the bombs whilst flying in exterior view.
- A working radio suite is included together with hidden RMI gauge for basic simulated navigation flights.
- 10 authentic liveries and a Pro-Quality Paintkit
- Authentic livery schemes for a variety of aircraft including Hungarian and Italian machines is included.

Authentic flight dynamics
Although there are no flying examples of the aeroplane left, every effort has been made to deliver a set of realistic and historically accurate flight dynamics. These have been authored from contemporary flight test reports, genuine, original factory manuals and pilot accounts of the time.

Stereo sound set
Care has been taken to create an authentic sound suite for the Heinkel, including the “phasing” sound when the engines are out of sync. This is a signature sound for the Heinkel HE1-11

SKYLINE SIMULATIONS - KLGB LONG BEACH AIRPORT CALIFORNIA MSFS
James
Very impressed with this airport until SU5. Nicely done for sure (4-star on initial release). Well worth the purchase. Hoping it will be updated soon so that I can use it again. Will gladly update my review once it is back up and running.

All coastlines should be like this! Keep up the good work and don't give up!
IRIS SIMULATIONS - AVIATOR SERIES - JABIRU J160/J170 - MSFS
David
This was always my favourite microlight / LSA plane in FSX, and I was so pleased to see it released for MSFS. It is even more fantastic in MSFS! One point deducted because their are no door opening sounds, and the outside sound does not blend in, when the doors are opened. If they can be fixed, it's five stars.

Finally, barbados was needed for a very long time. An accurate representation ,thank you!!
MAILSOFT GMBH FLYLOGIC - BIRRFELD LSZF MSFS

The scenery definitely has its strong points: - Crisp ground markings with good colour and great accuracy - Dynamic landing-T at the signal square area - Some areas/buildings important to fly VFR have been modelled - Nice work on the snow coverage These are important features and the developer can be commended for doing these. Howev-
er, the scenery falls short in many other areas: - Biggest let-down for me is the ground texturing. It is not at all true-to-life, the grass runway and its associated taxiways have a yellow-green texture while the rest of the grass area is much more blueish-green. This is not at all realistic and looks quite cartoonish and bad when on final during landing. - While the recreational facilities have been modelled quite nicely, the buildings themselves are of very low detail and have blurry textures with what looks like compression artefacts. This is not at all what the simulator is capable of showing and is a clear sign of porting over from P3D/FSX. - The night lighting, while being marketed as a highlight of the scenery, is very disappointing. For the buildings it means a blurry and over-exposed photo of lit-up windows, very unnatural looking and also a clear left-over from P3D/FSX. Ove-
rall it is clear that this scenery is a rather simple port of the old P3D/FSX sceneries. There is no interior modelling, no open hangar with a lively interior, no PBR texturing, and an overall lack of detail on the flying side of things. While I admire them from modelling some of the airport's surroundings and doing a dynamic landing-T, it is still a very low fidelity scenery nowhere near the standard a modern MSFS scenery can have. You need only to compare to masterpieces from Burning Blue Designs, AUScene or NZA Simulations to realise this Birrfeld scenery would need a complete makeover to be able to compete at the same level of quality. Here's hope that we can soon have Birrfeld V2!

nk you for creating a local airport in Japan.
TROPICALSIM - TIRANA LATI 2020 FSX P3D
Herman
Nicely done but as observed by a previous reviewer... not properly colour matched. A config menu with appropriate options could improve the product.
LIMITLESS SIMULATIONS - AEROSOFT A330 PROFESSIONAL COCKPIT SOUNDPACK P3D4-5
Christopher
It does turn the A330 into something more "pro". However I really hope Limitless adds more sounds in the future. Suchas as the knobs, the engines, the APU, etc...
YSIM - SUBSONEX JSX-2 MSFS
Hugo
It is a nice plane but it is much too chaotic in flight. the engine sound is not good and the avionics are very limited, no autopilot etc.

Updated review for V1.1 Really fun little jet. Handles really nicely and a joy to fly. Become one of my main choices because its so versatile. It takes a little bit of adjusting to the landing but it only takes a few tries and becomes natural. This update added parking breaks which was a great addition and great to see that community feedback was listened too. Currently the oxygen system also doesn't sem to work. The gage is there but you can't turn it on or off however it's more a candy feature but given how "minimal" the cockpit is, I really would love to see that added. The screen has 2 modes, the G3X which is nice for basic VFR flying especially if mostly use the default aircraft aviaonics but you also have the MGL with 3 options of display, which when activated show smoke status, any aerobatics and the G force shows and it also helps keep heading in aerobatics by showing the ideal line to keep on track.I also love the fact that when you retract the landing gear, you can see a little bit below the plane, which can be helpful to look quickly at both to see where lined up but also because it's easy to check if gear is down. I have bought way to many planes for this simulator and for the cost, enjoyment and difference this is a must buy in my opinion and one of the coolest planes we have so far with the only really similar plane being the Cri Cri jet version which I find this different enough (being small and jet powered is basically where the similarities end) that I wouldn't say if already have the cri cri and enjoy it not to get this. If torn between the two, I'd have to say I'd pick this as you will have a blast if pick this up and you can count on Y-Sim to keep up the great work. Keep it up Y-sim and I look forward to seeing what the updates and future products you bring to the simulator ???? P.S the discord is a really amazing space and you will find any help or answers to questions you may have there!
