Carajás/Parauapebas Airport (IATA: CKS, ICAO: SBCJ) is located in the municipality of Parauapebas, southeast of Pará. It is located on State Highway PA-275.
The airport operates weekly flights to Belo Horizonte (Confins) by Gol and Azul Linhas Aereas, in addition to some weekly flights to Belém with Gol and Azul and weekly flights to Marabá only by Azul.
Historic
Carajás Airport was built by Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) in 1981, approved by Ordinance No. March 1985. It was absorbed by Infraero on March 5, 1985. Currently managed by the superintendent Mr. Paulo.
It is one of the 24 airports in the State of Pará, which are included in the Federal Government's PDAR - Regional Aviation Development Plan.
