The Caxias do Sul - Hugo Cantergiani Regional Airport (CXJ / SBCX) is an airport located in Caxias do Sul, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is the second busiest airport in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, being the best option for tourists visiting the tourist region of Serra Gaúcha, notably the tourist resorts of the Hortênsias Region (municipalities of Gramado, Canela, Cambará do Sul, Nova Petrópolis and São Francisco de Paula), of the Vale dos Vinhedos region (municipalities of Bento Gonçalves, Garibaldi and Monte Belo do Sul), the Caminhos da Colônia Tourist Route (cities of Caxias do Sul and Flores da Cunha), in addition to the Aparados da Serra National Park due to its short distance from both.
The Municipality of Caxias do Sul participates in the management of the Airport, through a Management Agreement, integrating the Joint Commission for the airport administration, being responsible for the guard and surveillance of the airport site and for the management of the human resources in service at the Airport.
It is classified in the Airplane Plan of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (PARGS), as a National Airport, serving more than 34 municipalities in the Serra do Estado region. Currently, it connects Caxias do Sul to São Paulo daily through Gol Linhas Aéreas, operating Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft and Azul Linhas Aéreas operating Embraer 195 and Embraer E2 aircraft to Campinas.
