The Mi-2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 looks fantastic visually and the cockpit detail is impressive, but unfortunately the flight model still feels quite rough and unfinished. The helicopter has a lot of potential, especially for fans of classic Eastern Bloc aviation, but at the moment the handling and overall flying experience could use more refinement to feel truly convincing. Maybe one day we’ll finally see a fully detailed Mi-2 released for DCS World — that would be an instant buy for many helicopter enthusiasts.
I am using the 2024 version of the MSFS simulator, but I simply couldn’t resist trying this helicopter, because based on the images and videos it looked stunning. After the purchase, I was not disappointed.
This is a professional, premium-quality product. Its quality and overall visual presentation are simply astonishing. The external model of the helicopter is crafted to a professional, premium standard, and the same can be said about the cockpit, which is beautifully detailed down to the smallest elements. The textures are fantastic in every respect, and the instruments are of exceptionally high quality. This helicopter is simply incredible.
I would like to congratulate the team, and it gives me great pleasure to see such a professional team entering the world of MSFS helicopter development. I must also mention the flight model, which I find very enjoyable and appropriate; it provides a highly pleasant flying experience.
Overall, this is a professional model. I have great respect for the development team, and I am very much looking forward to their future work. I hope that their upcoming projects will maintain this same premium level of quality.
Without any exaggeration, I can say that I have tried helicopters from all developers in MSFS, and at present, no other developer offers this level of quality—especially in terms of cockpit modeling and the use of high polygon detail. This work is truly outstanding: first-class, top-tier for me. Keep up the excellent work—I will promote this professional product wherever I can, because it speaks for itself.
Wooooaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought it yesterday ! I am am Flightsimmer from day one of MS Flightsim also a real world pilot (fixed wing) and I can state this is the best and most immersive I have flown in MS. Outstanding !!!!
Thanks to DIGITAL AERONAUTICS, our simulator now features a fantastic helicopter, a true workhorse. A tremendous amount of work has been done, and it's noticeable at first glance. The attention to detail is exceptional. The flight model is very comfortable and fully utilizes the simulator's capabilities. The visuals are top-notch. I just want to ask one thing: please, developers, don't rest on your laurels! We eagerly await new helicopters!
Postscriptum to my review:
In the future updates I would love to see:
1. State saving, It really changes the feel of an add-on from being and add-on to feeling like owning it
2. Polish livery
3. VOR receiver
In my opinion, this is the best helicopter for MSFS so far. Bought it yesterday and I cant stop flying.
If you are in doubt about pruchasing this addon, I can just say: BUY IT!
This is a very nice-looking and very good aircraft. It is a legend, especially in Middle-Eastern Europe, for me as a Pole it has a special place in my heart, in my own personal history.
The model is beautiful outside, and immersive inside. Gauges are typical for soviet cockpits and are magnificently reproduced, all very readable and reliable. Every switch that works does something - no dummies, no decorations.
I am new to helicopters, and learning to fly in Mi-2 is fun. I am sure it would be a very pleasurable experience for seasoned rotorcraft pilots. It seems quite easy to fly, as even rookie here was able to make a safe flight - take off, cruise and land. Hovering is another story, but this is expected. The comprehensive manual is your best friend.
Minor drawbacks (not worthy any deductions from well-deserved 5 stars), that are possible subject to updates, are: rear/cargo doors not opening and said manual, although informative and in-depth, requires some knowledge about rotorcrafts to get out the full information. A tutorial-for-newbies section (like Tutorial Flights in Just Flight Fokker 28) with step-by step instructions and/or Youtube Tutorials that many great makers do, would be a most welcomed addition.
Finally, this is something really fun to fly, great experience and something to fly for long time - it will not dust in my hangar for sure.
I got it with release discount - it feels like Christmas arrived really early this year!
Very nice models exterior and interior. Detailed. I give 4 stars cause as a former pilot-cadet of Mi-2 still see some things to fix. Most important to fix are:
1, In real Mi-2 is mach more manueverable especially when he's light wight (450L fuel)
2, When turn power collector to max engines spool to 97% and later working with collective stroke lever automatically,.
3. After cut fuel off engines faster turn off but main rotor roter bit longer.
Model is very very nice.

Hi,
After flying the Mi-8 and Mi-24 in DCS, I just had to get the Mi-2 for MSFS.
What a lovely machine this is. I absolutely adore the flight model. It is an absolute delight to fly this helicopter, although I am not sure if the real one is this easy to fly. This helicopter behaves so smooth and balanced.
I only wish that there would be a manual which explains the start up from cold and dark. I had to start the Mil-2 by trial and error.
Note: Digital Aeronautics replied to me and advised me where to find a complete checklist in their manual which comes with the helicopter.
The developers quick response was a nice experience.
For helicopter enthusiasts I can highly recommend the Mi-2.
BTW, although it is made for MSFS 2020, I have tried it in both MSFS 2020 and in MSFS 2024. It seems to work in MSFS 2024 with some minor issues like a reversed throttle animation (although the throttle works fine) and a few switches not being recognized.
