King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) (Arabic: مطار الملك عبدالعزيز الدولي) (IATA: JED, ICAO: OEJN) is an International airport located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and is the main Saudi international airport. Named after King Abdulaziz Al Saud and inaugurated in 1981, it serves most international travel and is the largest hub for Saudi Arabia's flag carrier Saudia. The airport's Hajj Terminal was specially built for Muslim pilgrims going to Mecca annually on the Hajj.
Unfortunately its money waste. I uninstalled it. Further to the below negative comments, the airport gateways are designed only for A320 or 737. not 777 or A330 which are more common at OEJN. Beside you will not get any support from the developer.
please fix some stairs that are floating and some lights also taxi way lights as this is one of the best 3rd party soon everyone will want it we need an update my friend
The guys giving this airport a 5-star rating need to put on glasses. This airport has the potential to be great but the blue edge taxi lights are all over the place (And far too many! Hand place these DEVS! Stop being lazy and relying on the SDK edge light tool!), disconnected taxi lines, default taxi signage (in questionable locations), ZERO defined taxi network information (ATC software can't give taxi instructions since no taxiways are defined and EFB software won't show which taxiway you are on for the same reason), poorly defined gate information, and default jetways. The modeling is nice on the buildings DT cared about. A lot of other buildings have much to be desired in their detail and texture quality.
Overall this airport product is sloppy in its execution. With some care, this could become a three-star airport or even a four-star if more polish was put into it. It is clear to me this airport is a quickly rushed conversion from the X-Plane 11 version, dumped on the market, and left to rot. It's sad because Double T picks airports to model that no one else would touch which is great and I can see the potential in their abilities but the lazy execution of their airports plagues their ability to get to the next level time and time again.
At the very least Double T, fix the blue edge lights being all over the place! They stick out onto taxiways and are littering the parking ramp of all terminals. If you can hand place your taxi edge lights that would be enough for me to bump my review to a three-star rating.
Pretty poor. I hesitated several weeks before buying this, as the video and the images didn't show much in the way of detail of this product. The video in fact is focussed far more on the airliner arriving and departing than the actual airport. Bottom line is that this is an attractive and interesting looking set of terminals (which is what drew me to this) but it is all very badly done. All the buildings are hovering off the ground, there are no interiors, cars float above the badly modelled roadways, and the jetways are completely static.
I gave in eventually and bought this as there aren't many airports available in this region, but I wish I hadn't bothered. It would be an acceptable "external model only, don't look too closely" type of purchase for maybe 10 euros, but it is appalingly over-priced for what it is. I shall avoid all other products from this vendor, which is a shame as they tend to go for the more interesting and unusual airports. But I'm not going to waste more any money on stuff like this.
After initial compatibility issues with FSUIPC (!) - when loading the sim CTD and I realized it was FSUIPC itself looking at the event registry -, I wrote to the developers and, since then, I got lot of support from these guys and eventually I have enjoyed this beautiful airport.
Apart from the great add-on, the customer service itself deserves a 5 stars.
