Santa Barbara Airport (KSBA) for flights to Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, Portland or our sister airport Santa Catalina(KAVX).

This is a great airport - over 80 buildings modelled, Interior perspective on the buildings (believed to be a world first), animated people, and 2 millimetre / pixel tiled texture on the taxiways and runways.

Commercial airline flights began in 1932 on Pacific Seaboard Airlines. United Airlines then inaugurated flights from Santa Barbara/Goleta in 1936 and the Spanish-style terminal building was commissioned by United Airlines, using the same architects as for the Arlington Theatre.

The USA Marine Corps was operating here 1942 to 1946 with a peak of 4,000 personnel, training 24 squadrons with 101 accidents – hopefully they learnt from their mistakes. But can you name the John Wayne WWII film stationed at Goleta, the name for this airport until it was annexed to the city of Santa Barbara by a 7 miles (11 km) long, 300 feet (90 m) wide corridor, mostly under the Pacific Ocean.

Most popular flight destinations in recent history have been Los Angeles California, Phoenix Arizona, San Francisco California, Denver Colorado, Seattle Washington, and Portland Oregon. In 2013 the airport hosted flights by United, American, US Airways, Frontier and Alaska airlines.

Buy this product with our Catalina product and you can fly back and forth to your heart’s content.

Have to agree with other reviewer. It is a slideshow, no matter if you run it in FSX or P3D. You have to turn off all the features and then it is still below average fps. Not the same quality as other SIM720 products I'm afraid.

This airport is my first purchase of a SIM720 product. I wanted it since it services Alaska Airlines which I fly for online. After having looked at some of their other offerings I was satisfied with the screenshots I saw and Santa Barbara was on sale so I took the leap and I wish I hadn't. This is an extremely poorly performing airport, especially for it's size. In the default F22 in Prepar3D I am getting 16 FPS with light AI traffic turned on. The PMDG 737NGX yields an even lower FPS to the point of being unusable. I typical see 30 FPS at the 40 other payware airports I own with frames locked at 30 so it is not my simulation setup that is the problem. This bad performance is with version 1.3 which was suppose to address these problems but they persist. Repeated calls from other buyers over on their forums have yielded no acceptable fix yet. SIM720 are aware of the problem and insist it should not be performing like this but it still is. This product also is not up to the standards of the airport design industry and even SIM720's own standards according to fans of their airports. Aprons and runways do not blend well with aprons, there is a lack of wear and tear alpha maps and the 3D buildings have geometry that flicker wildly in places. If they can at least get the FPS up to snuff this would be at least a 4 star airport offering but for now I have to give it two.
