For over a century, Hua Hin city is known as one of the most attractive cities on the gulf of Thailand, for its beautiful summer beaches.
Hua Hin is approximately 200 km. from Bangkok. It takes less than 2.5 hours of driving, and there you will find hundreds of hotels, accommodations, restaurants, and all services. With small private aircraft, you will enjoy the coastlines as you fly south from either one of the 2 major airports in Bangkok. With the commercial airliners (B737 or A320), a flight time will be approxomately 40 minutes from Bangkok.
For decades, Hua Hin Airport is home of all student pilots till these days (120 classes, and counting). The Civil Avaition Authority of Thailand (CAT) established the first flight school at Hua Hin airport over 4 decades ago. The airport is located on the beach to the north of Hua Hin city. The 2,100-meters runway is actually built on 2 districts (Hua Hin and Cha-Am). When you take off from RWY 34, you are in Hua Hin district of Prachuapkirikhan province. But when you are airborne, you will be in Cha-Am district of Petchaburi Province.
