FLY THE LINE – SHORT HAUL EDITION

FLY THE LINE – SHORT HAUL EDITION

by

Klaus

I’ve been using Fly The Line for about **38 in-game days now All airlines I actually want to fly are available. Great for immersion if you like to replicate real airline operations. Virtual airlines are also possible. One thing to be aware of though: when creating routes for virtual airlines, you should filter airports quite aggressively. The route calculator can eat a lot of RAM, and if you leave too many airports in the search pool it may even crash. The after-flight analysis is one of the highlights of the app. It’s very detailed and gives you a rating plus XP points after each flight. Watching your performance and slowly improving is quite satisfying. Touchdown zone scoring is extremely strict. To get the full 5 points you must land exactly within 50% of the TDZ. If you're even 1% short of that, you only get 3 points. Another thing that works really well is the career progression system. Getting promoted through ranks and receiving salary increases is surprisingly motivating. A big part of the app is also the life simulation running alongside your pilot career. You have to furnish your house and manage things like health, exhaustion, mood, etc.*during your off time. It adds a layer of role-playing. Things I don’t like that much: The landing analysis doesn’t include a statistic for centerline deviation/tracking. Touchdown zone scoring feels overly strict. Odd design decision that you start without basic bathroom equipment (toilet and sink) in your house. Calendar system loops the months. I started in February, flew for a full in-game month, and then the calendar returned to February 1st again. The only way to move to the next month is by creating a new route, which breaks immersion a bit. Suggestions and Wishes One idea would be an option where you cannot immediately fly any aircraft type. Instead, you would first need to complete a virtual type rating before being allowed to operate that aircraft. I would also love more depth in the procedure evaluation, checking for things like: * Beacon before engine start * Landing lights used correctly below 10,000 ft * Centerline deviation during takeoff and landing Another improvement could be the Airline job system. Right now you can switch airlines anytime, but it would be more immersive if you had to **ply for a new airline and be evaluated based on both flying skills and pilot condition (health, fatigue, etc.)**. Active Sky integration would be fantastic. For example, the training captain could reference the weather briefing from Active Sky before the flight. --- Summary: Despite a few quirks, Fly The Line is a *ery engaging career companion for flight simulation. The combination of detailed flight analysis, career progression, and life simulation gives every flight a sense of purpose. After 38 in-game days I’m still motivated to keep flying.

I'm always looking for renditions of these reliever and other mid-size airports that serve ULCC commercial and private aviation in the U.S. This is a great debut project for this developer. And I hope he makes more. Here is a video with an overview of JQF before departing: https://youtu.be/hFhk-cCYowo?si=iZXDMG_50p07vBtW

EVRA - RIGA INTERNATIONAL MSFS20/24

EVRA - RIGA INTERNATIONAL MSFS20/24

If you are choosing between Justsim EVRA and this one, definitely get this one. Not only it has much more details, including thoroughly modelled interiours, but it is also up to date and includes most changes that occurred to airport within last 5 years (as of 2026). And it also has a MSFS2024-native version. My only complain is that none of the facilities adjacent to airport western border are modelled - this includes Airline Support Baltic and Riga Aviation Museum. Definitely need some static aircraft there.

LITTLE AMERICA ANTARCTICA - 1929 MSFS24

LITTLE AMERICA ANTARCTICA - 1929 MSFS24

by

A painstakingly handcrafted scenery with breath-taking attention to detail. This is a historically faithful (1929) rendition of Admiral Richard E. Byrd's Little America featuring a series of missions (some fictional, some real events) that sees you exploring the Antarctic Base. This is not just a scenery but a historical journey. You’ll find blue books placed next to historically interesting locations. Inside the books you'll find QR codes to websites containing real-world history, photographs, and related reference material. The developer has gone above and beyond to instil a real sense of immersion above that which you would find in other scenery addons. There are animated and sound-crafted wildlife and animals: penguins, dogs, birds and even a whale. There’s even a series of easter-egg events like a team of Sled Dogs running away from a Musher. The Ford Trimotor Floyd Bennett is ready waiting to go, and with an NDB for navigation and 2 runways long enough to accommodate most aircraft the scenery is more than useable whether it's for a trip down memory lane or as part of a modern-day visit. Give it a whirl, you won't regret it!

A good effort but it needs some work. Textures on the roof of the main terminal look plastic and have no depth to them. Runway centerline marker look more lie road markers. They're too short and there's too many of them. They did do a really good job with the interiors and the compound, signs etc.

Anti-Piracy Warning

Protecting Your Purchase

The flight simulation add-ons you are purchasing are legally protected and copyrighted on an international level. This ensures that the creators' rights are upheld and their innovative work is safeguarded.

Why Piracy Hurts Everyone

Piracy undermines the dedication and creativity of developers. When you download or distribute pirated add-ons, it impacts the creators' ability to continue producing high-quality content. This affects the entire community by reducing the availability of new features and updates.

Consequences of Piracy

  • Legal Risks: Engaging in piracy can lead to severe legal consequences, including fines and prosecution.
  • Security Threats: Pirated software often carries malware, risking your personal data and system security.
  • Lack of Support: Unauthorized copies do not receive official support or updates, leading to potential issues and vulnerabilities.

How You Can Help

  1. Purchase Legitimately: Always buy add-ons from authorized sellers like SimMarket to ensure you receive authentic products.
  2. Report Piracy: If you encounter pirated add-ons, report them to the authorities or the original creators.
  3. Educate Others: Spread awareness about the negative impacts of piracy and encourage others to support developers by purchasing legitimate copies.

Thank you for supporting the flight simulation community and contributing to a fair and innovative marketplace.
