Description
Samui is a Tropical Paradise Island in the Gulf of Thailand. It is a very popular tourist destination, located about 500 kilometers from Bangkok, 75 kilometers from the nearest mainland, Surat Thani. It took almost10 hrs. to travel by land and sea. So travel by air is needed for rush tourists. The Samui International Airport is owned by Bangkok Airways but there are flights from other airlines as well. It is a remarkable airport for its open-air terminal, surrounded by beautiful gardens. There are 6 terminals for domestic and one terminal for international flights. After checking in, you need to walk along the shopping malls and walkway. From the terminals, you will be picked up by unique tram-like vehicles, transport you to the parking ramp to get on the plane.
This scenery was first done in 2010. Time flew and the airport has changed. More aprons for parking. At that time, there is no tool to calculate the curvature of the earth for scenery maker. So the airport was slightly mismatched the real world coordinates. The photoscenery is updated. It is perfectly matched the real world now and even more detail with a better frame rate as well.
What is the different compare to the previous version?
- New photoscenery with wider coverage and new autogen.
- New aprons and parking have been added with native P3D texture.
- New buildings have been added.
- New taxiways and runway markings.
- The lights on the runway and taxiways are custom made. The runway lights are red and white at certain length to warn the pilot at the very end of the runway.
- The garden in the terminal has been improved. More trees, plants and flowers than the previous version without compromising the frame rate.
- Animated trams are more with realistic traveling among the terminals and the parking bay.
- Custom made animated windsock.
- Improved textures, less work load on graphic card (less drawcall). So the airport has a lot of more detail but better frame rate.
- Dynamic lights for P3Dv4.

Requirements
1. The scenery is very frame rate friendly. You can use any computers that are capable of running FSX and P3Dv4-5. If you can run the default scenery, you can run this airport at least 20 fps. My oldest computer, Core2 Quad Q8200 @2.33 GHz with 2.0 Gb of Ram can run this scenery at almost 20 fps at full detail. Yours should not have any problems at all.
2.You can switch between P3Dv4 and FSX by double click on the batch files. It will copy all the necessary files to be shown on each version.
