The USN Blue Angels F-18 Hornet add-on aircraft is specifically designed for use with MSFS 2004 and has been re-created with "extreme-detail" in mind. With the ease of the Self-Install file, you can quickly load the new Hornet's into your flight simulator. This FSDS V2 designed aircraft model is an attempt at capturing the essence of the curves, lines, and intricate animations of the original F/A-18 Hornets.
The "Blue Angels" Hornet package includes models of both the McDonnell-Douglas and Boeing versions of the world famous USN Blue Angels Air Demonstration Team. All six single seat tail numbers as well as the tandem seat version and 'spare parts' #08 (no tail number) are represented.
F-18 Hornet Panel details
Functionality, attention to detail and recreating the "real feel" of a fighter cockpit has been aerialfoundry's focus in the design of the Hornet's 2D panel and virtual cockpit (VC). Original gauges are visible and accessible through the VC, which is wrapped in original textures that cover every part of this cockpit giving an extraordinary depth to this VC.
The "Pilot's Point of View" in the single seat VC seats the virtual pilot comfortably with clear vision in the aircraft and allows pilots taking the tandem seat versions up, to experience and take the controls from "rear seat".
The 2D panel features side and centre consoles, three colour Heads Up Display (HUD) and various original gauges throughout the panel including Hornet style engine management readout.

Outstanding Package!!!!!!!!! I've had it for over 3 years. I migrated it over to FSX, FSX SP2 and acceleration! It looks and runs best in FSX! Thats not slighting its performance in FS2004 it just seems to take advantage of the improvements to MSFS. Could it be that AF was ahead of their time. This thing has looked an run flawlessley in the three enviornments above with the most work being the port to FSX. The detail of this cockpit is INSANE!! Most realistic! No FPS impact whatsoever! Thanks Aerial Foundary, I wish there were more like you.
Regards,
Bruce
Love the detail. Love the handleing charcteristics. You can even preform the high angle of attack slow fly-by with smoke on, speed-break out, tail hook down, refueling probe out, flaps full down, and landing gear down at about 75 kts"still at a very stable flight envelope".The only problem I had with this aircraft is that you cannot addon any other paint scheme to this particular set, you have to buy the other Aerialfoundry F-18 Hornet pack, which I did.
