The P-51 D , built by North American Aviation is a single-seat low wing aircraft powered by a ( under licence ) Packard built Rolls Royce Engine. Originally designed as part of a proposal to design a a completely new fighter from ground up the P51 saw a number of roles during the second world war and in fact well into the 50’s and the advent of the jet age.
The P-51 was not without its problems. In particular the earlier version suffered from a problem with vision especially to the rear and a lacklustre performance. This was remedied with a bubble canopy and the addition of the Merlin engine.
First seeing action with the RAF the American armed forces were to take up the majority of the use during latter stages of WW2. Merlin powered Mustangs were to start their first of many missions to escort long range bombers in mid-December 1943. The P51-D’s were to prove superior to the premier german fighters of the time the Me-109 and the Fw-190 . About 13 000 Merlin powered Mustangs were produced in the United states. They continued to serve past the WW2’s end and some were even used in a ground attack role during the Korean war. They last saw combat in the 1969 “Soccer War “. Now they can be found either in racing guise or as highly restored examples at airshows throughout the world.

Insignia information
The inclusion of Nazi insignia in products created for the purposes of entertainment is outlawed in many countries. Because this product is sold in those regions, we are unable to include historically accurate kill markings on the aircraft, nor will we be able to release a separate historically accurate package for optional download.
Should you choose to modify the files and make the requisite changes yourself, or download third-party livery modifications, you will not hold Aeroplane Heaven responsible for those actions.

You'll need a new camera because the default cameras are so much off, you cant watch the gauges properly. The modeling is not very well done, but also for that you can find a new cfg file. And most of the functions in the cockpit are not assigned to an existing sim command, so most commands can not be connected to a controller, meaning that you have to pan around for every function you want to use. Also, support is not very helpful. And that for a price for which you can buy a serious aircraft, like Milviz, or A2A.
Alright, first of all I'm going to start with the fact that the plane has beautiful external modeling and external textures are great. However, the cockpit is not to the same standard. The gauges defiantly are lacking as well as the weathering which appears a bit cartoonish. The appearance of the plane overall would be worthy of 4 stars. This plane however is missing vital requirements for a warbird in msfs 2020 in regard to system modeling. The lack of engine damage ruins simulation immersion. There is no way a P-51 has the capability to reach 66,000 ft or can run on emergency war power indefinitely without overheating. Seriously Aeroplane Heaven. I'm not sure if this was laziness or just a lack of capability in regard to the systems. Either way if milviz or flying iron releases a P-51 this will get deleted from my sim as it currently stands. The sounds are also poorly done. Bottom line is the plane looks real pretty but the systems do not match the quality of its appearance. This being my first time trying one of their planes (mainly to give support in hopes that they continue development of it with updates) I was not impressed. How they correct the many deficiencies now will determine if I ever purchase their work again. I would not recommend this plane in its current state. They have come a long way appearance wise but as far as realism is concerned, it's just not acceptable in msfs 2020 compared to the standards set by their competition. It's actually a little depressing that they screwed this one up. Now we have to wait for someone else (milviz or flyingiron) to deliver a proper study level P-51 or pray Aeroplane Heaven has the character to fix their mistakes and deliver a quality product. The fact that they released this plane in such an outrageous state and haven't yet communicated plans to correct the listed deficiencies other than the utterly horrid sound package doesn't give me too much confidence in them. It seems as if they'd rather produce a large quantity of garbage planes rather than focus on quality. A few pbr textures and removable panels might be enough to impress one of those xbox flight simmers... all that's useless if you can't properly produce a realistic flight model (which includes the planes systems). Im not having it.
I like it it's a beautiful plane however the souns of the engine really drags it down. You can hear it clearly when you start the engine and the sound clip is ending and then a whole other type of sound engine starts. If they work on the sound of this aircraft i will give it 5 stars.
That's a trully awesome addon.... well almost.
The plane feels great to fly, the model is magnificent but the sound... omg AH, have you ever heard a P-51 ? Because that surely does not sound like one. That's almost an insult to our hears and to the packard Merlin music.
Please please correct those sounds
This is a great representation of the P51-D for MSFS. It seems to be very accurate to the real thing! The downside is that a lot of the texture work both outside and also in the cockpit isn't exactly up to MSFS standards. The textures have low resolution, not very crisp if you compared the Aeroplane Heaven P51-D to the flying iron simulations spitfire. Please improve the textures, make them crisper. We want quality!!! For the sounds, I like them being Wwise sound sets, but I'm not sure what to say about them. Not sure if I like the current Wwise sounds with the P51-D. Maybe it's just me, but they don't sound exactly great. I hope with this feedback you can apply it to your upcoming updates.
