The classic B727-200F, known for its iconic three-engine configuration, is a special cargo variant of the renowned 727 family. It has been integral to air freight operations worldwide up to the 1990s, with some still in operation today.
The aircraft offers good performance and range for short- to medium-haul flights, making it an ideal choice for pilots looking to enjoy cargo operations. Even though the aircraft systems are quite complex, FSS has added an optional easy-entry user menu to automate cockpit flows and monitor systems automatically. Therefore, this add-on is great for all users, from beginners to experts.
Are you ready to dive into the world of classics and fly with old-school navigation? Or would you prefer a GPS retrofit option? The choice is yours. Have fun!

Updated recently by Aerosoft/FSS! They finally made all of the most important problems go away. No more strange CTDs, all doors open as they should and the systems have been cleaned up. Now it’s a 5 star classic with deep systems and realism. It looks and sounds amazing. Flies great!
What a phenomenal simulation of this classic airliner!
I've been waiting for a decent 727 since the late 2000s and it's finally here. And boy, it does not disappoint! The visuals are stunning and the systems require the armchair pilot to dig into the manuals before taking it to the skies.
Overall, it is very well done, and as such, strongly recommended!
After having some initial problems with the installation and some crashing, I finally got this to work. Turns out there can sometimes be a corrupted download from FSS or Aerosoft not sure which and they didn’t really get into such details. At any rate it is working now and I love it. Great texturing and so far as I can tell great flight model. The sounds are pretty good too. It’s really nice to have such a detailed 727.
The cellphone tool has great options if you don’t want to play pilot, copilot, and flight engineer all at the same time that allows for the AI to run through certain checklists and perform all related tasks. I admit it can be quite challenging to fly this aircraft solo. There is a lot to do in each flight phase. In a way it simulates the other crew members so you the pilot can focus on flying the plane. You can turn all or some on or off depending on personal preferences and how willing you are to take on the job of 3 people.
That should also give you a hint at how deep the systems are. Pretty deep! Pretty amazing.
Only issues are regarding the main cargo and rear steps not opening or closing. Usually just requires restarting the flight again to resolve the odd bug. By the sounds of things the bug is well known and being worked on. Though it has been a while.
4 stars until the door bug is fixed because I don’t like having to restart my flight every time I load one. In all this is a very good aircraft and despite some initial install issues (just took a couple redownloads and reinstalls to fix) and kind of minor bugs it’s really fun to fly.
After some updates, the Graphicmodell is just wonderfull, the sounds are great and the systems level is of course not on Fenix level but I would rate it somewhere between the ini A300 and the PMDG 737. It has a fully working INS, optional basic autothrottle and the autopilot is modern enough to fly the INS waypoints or the Garmin 750 GPS points.
The flightengineers systems are also completely modeled but you can use a "Autoengineer" to do all the switching and monitoring of this stuff.
It is just a dream to fly this iconic plane.
This very iconic bird deserves a much better treatment. Yes it is visually beautifull but regarding the systems it is awfully treated and full of bugs, among them APU start very difficult, pneumatic systems totally erratic which make engine start impossible once one is already started and so on...Yes there are updates but none of them related of the main bugs which make this bird unflyable.
There are currently three models of the Boeing 727 for various Microsoft simulations: Flight1 (my reference), the one from Captain Sim, and this one. Unfortunately, I must say that the documentation for this model is the weakest. The online manual provided does not meet expectations.
It is widely known that the 727 should be started with a leading edge flap and flap setting of 15 degrees. The recommendations noted here raise questions about the aerodynamics of the model.”
Graphics-wise very very nice except for the overhead panel which could use a little more indirect lumination by the flood lights when dark, I catch myself using the flashlight every time, but that might be a thing in the real deal too.
Flight model seems quite nice to me and very believable except for the fast movements of the control surfaces. The better the hardware, the better you'll control her.
Systems are nicely modeled although it takes some time to understand the small quirks. If too much of a hustle one could instead simply use the virtual crew for going through the checklists, very handy on a busy day!
What bothers me the most is the soundset - in some parts very immersive and good, on other aspects it could have used a little more love to match the otherwise excelling addon.
