Details

Since “Helgoland X” has grown older but is still a popular destination, we decided to create a worthy up-to-date successor – this is “Helgoland FSX V2.0”. This new add-on promises an even higher level of detail and countless new and exciting options. Large parts of the scenery were created from scratch.

Forces of nature have reshaped the East coast of the “Duene”. RWY 21 has previously been blocked by a high sand dune that is now entirely gone. While approaches got a bit easier here the southern end of the airport is now a place where waves break around the southern tip of the runway. 10 years ago this has been surrounded by a large beach and construction teams are hard at work to prevent further loss of sediments.

In the wake of “green energy” Helgoland is currently becoming an important maintenance hub for nearby offshore wind parks. The existing military SAR base has been extended by an offshore maintenance helipad with its own hangar. From here you can fly your chopper to transformer stations out in the sea. All of them have their own helipad and make for a thrilling experience to approach when waves are high.

  • Updated aerial imagery to match 2018 status
  • Offshore "Südhafen" energy company buildings with clutter
  • 4 offshore wind parks with 4 platforms and their helipads
  • Detailed offshore maintenance heliport connected to the SAR heliport:
    • Very high ground resolution for both helipads
    • SAR heliport details added (improved fences, signs, etc)

This is a very nice scenery add on! The amount of detail both big and small is great. All of Helgoland is represented along with 4 wind farms in the surrounding ocean with 4 helipads. Turn up your boat and shipping traffic settings to get the most of the areas lively sea traffic. There’s a couple Easter eggs not in the description that I really enjoyed finding by slowly flying around in a helicopter. No spoilers. I had never heard of the place but it goes nicely with my Denmark area and Bornholm add ons. A fun new route. The airport is small and the runway is very short. A little challenging for light jets like a citation or phenom but doable. This is a real hidden gem. FSX Steam Win10 i7 3.3ghz 16GB Ram, Intel UHD 630 integrated GPU. No lag or chugging even in my newer Carenado Planes and with other nearby scenery packs enabled.

Das Warten und Hoffen auf eine FSX Version hat ein Ende. Die V2.0 hält alles was sie verpsricht bei gleichzeitig guten Framerates. Besonders gefällt mir die neu hinzugekommene Offshore-Szenerie und daher ist die Szenerie fast schon ein Muss für alle Hubschrauberfreunde. Von mir klare Weiterempfehlung!
