At Aerosoft we are not afraid to travel a bit to find destinations for our flights. And even when those destinations are far of the beaten path we will fly happily to them. Well Norilsk is certainly some way from the beaten path! Located in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, Norilsk is the second largest city north of the Arctic Circle (after Murmansk).
It has a very harsh climate with temperatures down to -53° and snowstorms 120 days a year. Six weeks each year the sun does not rise (but of course also does not set for 6 weeks in summer). Its history is not all too pretty, with a steadily decreasing population and it used to be part of the Gulag labour camps. Even now the city is off limits to foreigners. But that will not stop us flying there in the howling winds of a mid-winter snow storm!
