AI IOS User Guide
Features and voice command reference | X-Plane 12 | Windows x64
Quick start
Copy AI_IOS into the Resources/plugins/ folder of X-Plane 12. Start the simulator and load an aircraft. Select your microphone as the Windows default recording device, allow desktop microphone access, and connect to the internet.
Hold T to speak and release to submit. Give one complete instruction at a time and wait for processing to finish.
A recording length of 1 to 30 seconds is recommended.
AI IOS provides aircraft freeze and release, runway approach repositioning, weather adjustment, date and time settings, failure training, and scenario presets. Replace the airports, runways, values, and preset names below to suit your session.

1 Aircraft freeze and release
- Freeze the current position and attitude: "Freeze the aircraft."
- Resume flight: "Release the aircraft."
Suggested workflow: freeze the aircraft, set the approach position, adjust weather or time, then release the aircraft. Submit each step separately and wait for completion.
Runway and approach repositioning
Template: position the aircraft at [airport or ICAO], [runway], [distance on final]. Add speed, glide path angle, or an intercept side and angle as needed. Use nautical miles for distance and knots for speed.
- Runway threshold: "Place the aircraft at the threshold of ZBAA runway 36R."
- Five-mile final: "Position the aircraft five nautical miles on final for ZBAA runway 36R."
- Ten-mile final: "Position the aircraft ten nautical miles on final for ZBAA runway 36R."
- Set speed: "Position eight nautical miles on final for ZBAA runway 36R at one hundred sixty knots."
- Left intercept: "Position ten nautical miles on final for ZBAA runway 36R, intercept from the left at thirty degrees."
- Right intercept: "Position eight nautical miles on final for ZBAA runway 36R, intercept from the right at twenty degrees."
- Glide path: "Position six nautical miles on final for ZBAA runway 36R with a three degree glide path."
Repositioning is ready after airport data initialization. Speak the runway as "three six right" or use its written identifier, 36R.AI IOS | X-Plane 12 | EN

2 Weather command reference
Set visibility, precipitation, temperature, cloud layers, and wind layers. Specify cloud bases, cloud tops, and
wind layer altitudes above mean sea level. Complete layer descriptions make conditions easier to repeat.
- Visibility: "Set visibility to five kilometers."
- Low visibility: "Set visibility to eight hundred meters."
- Temperature: "Set temperature to twenty degrees Celsius."
- Cold weather: "Set temperature to minus three degrees Celsius."
- Precipitation: "Set precipitation intensity to fifty percent."
- Stop rain: "Stop the rain."
- Clear skies: "Set clear skies with no precipitation."
- Cloud removal: "Clear all cloud layers."
- Wind removal: "Clear all wind layers."
- Both layer groups: "Clear all cloud and wind layers."
- Combined weather: "Set visibility to five kilometers, temperature to ten degrees Celsius, and precipitation to thirty percent."
- Clouds: "Set one cumulus layer with fifty percent coverage, base at one thousand meters MSL and top at two thousand meters MSL."
- Wind: "Set one wind layer at one thousand meters MSL, direction two hundred seventy degrees and speed ten meters per second."
- Undo plugin weather: "Remove the plugin weather overrides."
The clear-sky command sets clear skies and stops precipitation. Removing plugin weather overrides releases the plugin's weather modifications. When defining clouds or winds, describe the complete set of layers for that request.
Date and time command reference
Set local time, UTC time, month and day, or follow the system clock. State the time reference explicitly for convenient repeatable sessions.
- Afternoon: "Set local time to three PM."
- Exact time: "Set local time to fifteen thirty."
- Midnight: "Set local time to zero zero hundred."
- UTC: "Set UTC time to twelve hundred."
- Date: "Set the local date to October twentieth."
- Date and time: "Set the local date to October twentieth and local time to fifteen thirty."
- System clock: "Resume following system time."AI IOS | X-Plane 12 | EN

3 Failure training command reference
Say "Activate [failure name]." To restore the corresponding flag, say "Restore the [failure name] failure flag."
Include the engine number for engine-related items.
- "Simulate an engine one flameout."
- "Restore the engine one flameout failure flag."
- "Simulate an engine two flameout."
- "Simulate an engine one fire."
- "Restore the engine one fire failure flag."
- "Simulate a fuel leak."
- "Simulate cockpit smoke."
- "Activate a left brake failure."
- "Activate a right brake failure."
- "Activate a landing gear indication failure."
- "Simulate a blocked number one pitot tube."
- "Activate a COM one radio failure."
- "Activate a GPS failure."
- "Activate a transponder failure."
After a session, restore the individual failure flags using the same item names and check the aircraft state.
Built-in scenario command reference
Say "Load the built-in scenario [name]." These English preset names are included:
- "Load the built-in scenario single engine failure landing."
- "Load the built-in scenario storm."
- "Load the built-in scenario broken."
- "Load the built-in scenario cirrus."
- "Load the built-in scenario clear."
- "Load the built-in scenario foggy."
- "Load the built-in scenario low visibility."
- "Load the built-in scenario overcast."
- "Load the built-in scenario scattered."
You can also select presets from Plugins > AI IOS - Scenarios > Built-in scenarios.AI IOS | X-Plane 12 | EN

4 Create and edit user scenarios
Give your preset a name and describe the conditions to save. After saving or editing it, load it by name to apply
the preset.
- Weather preset: "Create a user scenario named Rain Training with visibility five kilometers and precipitation fifty percent."
- Time preset: "Create a user scenario named Noon Training with local time twelve hundred."
- Combined preset: "Create a user scenario named Rainy Noon with visibility five kilometers, precipitation thirty percent, and local time twelve hundred."
- Approach preset: "Create a user scenario named Capital Final at ZBAA runway 36R, ten nautical miles on final, at one hundred sixty knots."
- Edit visibility: "Change visibility in the user scenario Rain Training to three kilometers."
- Edit precipitation: "Change precipitation in the user scenario Rain Training to seventy percent."
- Edit time: "Change the local time in the user scenario Noon Training to three PM."
- Edit distance: "Change the final approach distance in the user scenario Capital Final to eight nautical miles."
- Edit speed: "Change the speed in the user scenario Capital Final to one hundred fifty knots."
- Apply weather preset: "Load the user scenario Rain Training."
- Apply approach preset: "Load the user scenario Capital Final."
This workflow saves the preset first and applies it with a separate load request. Use the name chosen when creating the preset.
Menus and controls
Open Plugins > AI IOS - Scenarios for Built-in scenarios and User scenarios. Save user copy creates a user
copy. User presets also provide Rename and Delete with confirmation dialogs.
User scenario file:
%LOCALAPPDATA%AI_IOSXPlaneIntegratedPluginscenarios.json
Bind aiios/voice/push_to_talk in the X-Plane keyboard or joystick settings. The default T shortcut is controlled by default_ptt_shortcut in config/config.json.
A complete approach training session
- Step 1: "Freeze the aircraft."
- Step 2: "Position ten nautical miles on final for ZBAA runway 36R at one hundred sixty knots."
- Step 3: "Set visibility to five kilometers and precipitation to thirty percent."
- Step 4: "Set local time to three PM."
- Step 5: "Release the aircraft."
Wait for each step to finish before continuing. Reuse the same values for repeatable flight simulation practice.
