WARNING: the two mods Salerno2024 and Salerno2026 must be copied in the Community of the simulator one at a time, they must not coexist in the Community at the same time.

After many years of closure, the airport of Salerno Pontecagnano "Costa d'Amalfi" (ICAO: LIRI, IATA: QSR) finally reopens on July 11, 2024. Completely renovated and ready to accommodate aircraft of virtually any size.

In July 2024 the main innovations will be:

• runway extended to 2000 m

• two new taxiways

• the main apron very enlarged compared to the current

• start of works for the construction of the new General Aviation terminal, scheduled for 2025

The works will continue, and in 2026 the "Costa d’Amalfi" should be finished with:

• runway extended to 2200 m

• new main terminal

• new GA terminal

• ILS navigation system (assumed)

• new airport buildings

• new car parkings

To celebrate this "new" reality in the Italian airport scene, and anticipate the preview for fans, BarelliMsfsAddon has prepared the new addon dedicated to Salerno, divided into two separate mods: Salerno 2024 and Salerno 2026. These are two mods to install as usual in the MSFS Community folder, obviously NOT at the same time.

When publishing the 2024 version, it is important to specify that:

• official Enav cards are not yet available, so the markings and signage are similar to the current ones, with the appropriate variants; as soon as official news will be ready, which may however delay, you will be provided with a free update

Regarding the 2026 version, it is specified that:

• regarding the new terminal only architectural renderings are available, as officially presented in 2023, and based on these was created the new terminal for the simulator

• regarding the GA terminal there is no info, so the building was "invented", in the place where it will be built, inspired by existing GA terminals (Rome Ciampino and Olbia); also in this case, when and if news will be available, we will update

• it is assumed, reading between the lines of the official statements, that there will be the subsidy of an ILS on runway 05, the frequency of which was imagined as 108.50 MHz

• the new parkings of the cars have always been deducted from the official renderings

ATTENZIONE: le due mod Salerno2024 e Salerno2026 devono essere copiate nelle Community del simulatore una per volta, non devono coesistere nella Community contemporaneamente.

Dopo molti anni di chiusura, l'aeroporto di Salerno Pontecagnano "Costa d'Amalfi" (ICAO: LIRI, IATA: QSR) riapre finalmente l’11 luglio 2024. Completamente rinnovato e pronto per accogliere aerei praticamente di ogni dimensione.

A luglio 2024 le principali novità saranno:
• pista allungata a 2000 m
• due nuove taxiway
• il piazzale principale molto ingrandito rispetto all'attuale
• inizio dei lavori per la costruzione della nuova aerostazione dell'Aviazione Generale, prevista per il 2025

I lavori proseguiranno, e nel 2026 il “Costa d’Amalfi” dovrebbe essere terminato con:
• pista allungata a 2200 m
• nuovo terminal principale
• nuova aerostazione AG
• sistema di navigazione ILS (ipotizzato)
• nuovi edifici aeroportuali
• nuovi parcheggi

Per festeggiare questa “nuova” realtà nel panorama aeroportuale italiano, e anticiparne l’anteprima per gli appassionati, BarelliMsfsAddon ha preparato la nuova addon dedicata a Salerno, suddivisa in due mod separate: Salerno 2024 e Salerno 2026. Sono due mod da installare come al solito nella cartella Community di MSFS, ovviamente NON contemporaneamente.

Al momento della pubblicazione della versione 2024 è importante precisare che:
• non si dispone ancora delle carte ufficiali Enav, per cui i marking e la segnaletica sono simili a quelli attuali, con le opportune varianti; non appena si avranno notizie ufficiali, che potrebbero però tardare, si provvederà con un aggiornamento gratuito

Per quanto riguarda la versione 2026 si precisa che:
• del nuovo terminal si dispone solo dei rendering architettonici come presentati ufficialmente nel 2023, e basandosi su questi è stato creato il nuovo terminal per il simulatore
• della aerostazione AG non si dispone di nulla, per cui l’edificio è stato “inventato”, nel luogo dove sarà costruito, ispirandosi ad aerostazioni AG attualmente esistenti (Roma Ciampino e Olbia); anche in questo caso, quando e se si disporrà di notizie, si provvederà ad aggiornamenti
• si è ipotizzato, leggendo fra le righe delle dichiarazioni ufficiali, che ci sarà il sussidio di un ILS sulla pista 05, la cui frequenza è stata immaginata come 108.50 MHz
• i nuovi piazzali dei parcheggi autoveicoli sono stati dedotti sempre dai rendering ufficiali
