Anti-Piracy Warning

Protecting Your Purchase

The flight simulation add-ons you are purchasing are legally protected and copyrighted on an international level. This ensures that the creators' rights are upheld and their innovative work is safeguarded.

Why Piracy Hurts Everyone

Piracy undermines the dedication and creativity of developers. When you download or distribute pirated add-ons, it impacts the creators' ability to continue producing high-quality content. This affects the entire community by reducing the availability of new features and updates.

Consequences of Piracy

  • Legal Risks: Engaging in piracy can lead to severe legal consequences, including fines and prosecution.
  • Security Threats: Pirated software often carries malware, risking your personal data and system security.
  • Lack of Support: Unauthorized copies do not receive official support or updates, leading to potential issues and vulnerabilities.

How You Can Help

  1. Purchase Legitimately: Always buy add-ons from authorized sellers like SimMarket to ensure you receive authentic products.
  2. Report Piracy: If you encounter pirated add-ons, report them to the authorities or the original creators.
  3. Educate Others: Spread awareness about the negative impacts of piracy and encourage others to support developers by purchasing legitimate copies.

Thank you for supporting the flight simulation community and contributing to a fair and innovative marketplace.

Details

The airport was inaugurated on April 21, 1928, and was the first modern civilian airport in the Italian capital.
Its location — on the Via Salaria, north of the city — was conceived in relation to the 1920s layout of Rome. Its proximity and ease of connection to the newly expanding urban districts (Prati, Flaminio, and Trieste) were highlighted.

Being adjacent to a bend of the Tiber river also made it possible to use it as a base for seaplanes—aircraft, widely used at the time, with two-level hangars that allowed takeoffs directly from inside them.

In the 1930s, the airport was the home base of ‹Ala Littoria›, the first Italian flag carrier.

During World War II it was militarized, and in 1943 it was bombed.
In 1945 it hosted the Baltimore Wing of the Allied multinational air force (Royal Air Force, South African Air Force, and New Zealand Air Force).

But the further expansion of the capital city to the north stifled its development, limiting it to its current role: aero club activities, flying schools, sightseeing flights (especially by helicopter), air taxi, and service flights.

The airport area also hosts a Carabinieri helicopter unit and a meteorological station, managed by ENAV but operating in support of the Italian Air Force.
The Italian Air Force also has significant service and lodging facilities for the Logistic and Sports Center of the COMSEV (Command Supporting Top Entities) and has located its Air Force Band at Rome-Urbe.

In 2011, the refurbishment of the aviation infrastructure was completed, and as of June of that year, the new heliport is operational (built and managed by Esperia, a company of the Leonardo Group).
The year before, the passenger terminal had been inaugurated, and by the end of 2025 it will be completely renovated and modernized.

The scenery was designed and realized by Eng. Lucio S. Barelli.
Photographs taken on site by Franco Fabiani or obtained under free-use sources on the Web have been used.

We thank ENAC SERVIZI, ENAV, the military and civil administrations, as well as all companies and associations that collaborated and made this project possible.

Installation: place the scenery folder in the ‹Community› directory of the relevant simulator.

This scenery is suitable to run on Microsoft Flight Simulator© 2024  (MSFS2020 version also available).

The software is subject to copyright law: its use, when not authorized or licensed by the author, is to be considered unlawful (in which case, one might hope it provokes disastrous falls from one’s PC chair and corresponding virtual crashes).
