The Mi-17V-5 is a versatile helicopter that can be used for a variety of missions, including passenger transport, troop and armament transport, fire support, convoy escort, patrol, fire attack, and search-and-rescue (SAR) missions. It is operated by many countries around the world. It is powered by powerful Klimov VK2500 engines that deliver 2,700 hp each. It is capable of carrying up to 36 passengers or 8800 lbs. of cargo. The helicopter has a maximum takeoff weight of 28600 lbs.

The Mi-17V-5 is a true workhorse of the skies, capable of performing a wide range of missions with ease. Its advanced avionics and powerful engines make it a reliable and efficient transport helicopter that can operate safely in hostile environments.

Be careful: If you have assigned any helicopter throttle axis to your joystick (see: Set helicopter throttle axis, Set helicopter throttle1 axis, Set helicopter throttle2 axis in the CONTROL OPTION menu of MSFS2020), please verify that these axes are at 100% before takeoff, or disable them to avoid loss of rotor power.

Remember to maintain the main rotor revolutions above 85% (ideal 94%) Rotor RPM.

To control the throttle, use the levers and the grip throttle in the virtual cockpit.

The textures are well reproduced and most of the cockpit switches can be operated. Autopilot doesn't seem to be working. However, there are bugs such as turning on some of the switches and making them inoperable after that, and the hatch remaining open. FM is a little sensitive and hovering near the ground is unstable. In particular, the pitching feels excessive. Also, the rudder is not very effective. I set the sensitivity of the controller to about 20% for roll, about 40% for pitch, and raised the rudder considerably. Since it is a 20t helicopter, I hope that it will be updated to an FM that is a little slower and has more inertia. Also, sometimes the roll pitch changes abruptly in the air, as if it had hit something, so this also needs to be fixed. It would be nice if the external flight sound had a little more bass. Thank you to MSFS for releasing this precious Russian helicopter.

Nice addition for the sim and a challenge to fly. 30% of the switches and knobs work. Can get some updates but perfectly controllable.

Thank you for the model. I really liked the Mi-17. I enjoyed flying the Mi-17. I liked how the hub of the main propeller, the steering propeller was designed, I liked the spin of the propeller when starting the engines, I liked the dynamics of the flight. Thank you again!

I saw some comments that left 2 stars, somehow they disappeared? ... But this is a solid aircraft, could be perfect with a few updates, the FM feels a bit too light :)

Poor cockpit textures, many switches do not work. Spins wildly on the ground and flips with the slightest touch of the cyclic. So something not right with the flight model. Buy with caution.
