    • Description

    HNLMS Karel Doorman (R81) was a Colossus-class aircraft carrier of the Royal Netherlands Navy. Formerly the British ship HMS Venerable, she was sold to the Netherlands in 1948 as a light attack carrier. In 1960, she was involved in the decolonization conflict in Western New Guinea with Indonesia. In the mid 1960s the role was changed to anti-submarine warfare carrier and only ASW aircraft and helicopters were carried. An engine room fire took her out of service in 1968. She was sold to Argentina in 1969 and renamed ARA Veinticinco de Mayo.

    THE MODELS:                                                                                          

    The model is modeled and animated in GMAX, the aircraft carriers are aimed to PREPARD3D v3 and above but it includes a compiled mdl for FSX, this model has some differences compared to the P3D v3 model that will be explained later.

    *Only  P3D v3 version both elevator are animated (stern and bow), in FSX only the bow elevator is animated.

    Requirements

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

     Windows 7 or higher 

     PREPAR3D v3/v4 or FSX(SP 2)

     DirectX 9c, DirectX11 or higher ( DirectX10 as preview has problem with transparency)

     Fast processor (dual core 3.2 GHz minimum)

     4GB RAM memory (minimum)

     1 GB graphic card memory (minimum)

     Joystick or yoke with pedals

     This model works correctly in Prepar3D v3/v4. Tested in P3D v.3.5

    FSX version tested: -working front elevator and hangar deck -textures are nice -narrow deck, landing is quite a challenge -frame rates are very good -fair pricing -not availlable anywhere else (free- or payware, at the time of writing) Get the Sea Fury from Flying Stations as a perfect match (maybe still available for free). I recommend the Karel Doormann!
