Experience the Thunder of the Falls & The Beauty of the Backcountry
Transform your helicopter and bush flying adventures in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 with Waterfalls of Yellowstone: Northeast Quadrant. This scenery package completely overhauls one of the most iconic yet challenging regions of the park, replacing default "flat" water textures with hand-crafted, animated 3D waterfalls and correcting terrain anomalies for a true-to-life VFR experience.
Whether you are hovering in a helicopter or banking low in a Cub, discover the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the rugged Tower-Roosevelt area as they were meant to be seen.
Key Features
Upper & Lower Yellowstone Falls: Witness the majesty of the park’s crown jewels. The massive 308-foot Lower Falls and the crashing Upper Falls have been recreated with custom 3D water effects, mist, and accurate rock texturing, eliminating the "melting river" effect of the default scenery.
Crystal Falls: Often missed by casual tourists but never by a bush pilot, this hidden gem located between the Upper and Lower falls on Cascade Creek has been fully modeled, adding depth and realism to the canyon approach.
Tower Fall: Fly north to the Tower-Roosevelt area to see the spectacular 132-foot plunge of Tower Creek. The signature rock pinnacles (hoodoos) surrounding the brink have been sharpened and detailed, making it a perfect landmark for navigation.
Viewpoint & Road Fixes: Say goodbye to broken immersion. We have created custom 3D models, terraformed and corrected elevation data for key scenic viewpoints and nearby roads. Roads no longer warp into cliffs or slide into rivers, ensuring a seamless visual experience for low-altitude flights and photography.
Improved VFR Landmarks: Updated vegetation and rock formations around the falls serve as accurate visual references, matching real-world charts and maps.
Suggested Flight Path
Depart from West Yellowstone (KWYS) or Gardiner (29S) and follow the Yellowstone River into the park.
The Canyon Run: Drop into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to catch the spray of the Lower Falls, then climb swiftly to spot Crystal Falls tucked into the southern wall before overflying the Upper Falls.
The Northern Leg: Follow the river north through the winding valleys toward Mount Washburn.
The Tower Finale: As you approach the narrows, bank sharp to reveal the dramatic spire of Tower Fall, perfectly framed by its volcanic rock needles.
Fictional helipads are also available If you want to spawn directly from the scenery locations: YS01V and YS01X.
