BOB REEVE AND REEVE ALEUTIAN AIRWAYS
This story was inspired by several events; including a personal one going back to the late 1960s. More recently, Brett Holcomb of DC-3 Airways created a number of Alaskan routes relating to the Reeve Aleutian Airways (RAA) system. The more I flew the harder the bug bit, and I began some research on Bob Reeve…

    BENCHMARKING FSX - PART V
In this installment of the series, we’ll share results from testing Intel’s new six core i7-980X processor, testing two sample solid state drives with Windows 7 and FSX, and enabling different numbers of cores for an i7-975 “extreme” processor.

OPERATION VITTLES – THE BERLIN AIRLIFT
From June 24, 1948 until May 12, 1949, the USAF and the RAF engaged in an unprecedented effort known as the Berlin Airlift. The story of this endeavor is nothing short of amazing and its accomplishments have never been equaled. The effect the airlift had on the participants, recipients, and the aviation community is a topic worth discussing, and flight simulation allows us to experience what it must have been like to fly in this grand achievement.

BUILDING A NEW AIRPORT IN X-PLANE: PART 1 – THE BASIC CONCEPTS
After more than sixty years of discussing the improvement of the airport in Panama City (KPFN) and ten years of work on a design, the Airport Authority broke ground on a completely new, relocated field named Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport – KECP – in November 2007. Find out how to build it in X-Plane…

    VFR FLYING IN HAWAII
“Flight Simulator X has delivered us some major enhancements over previous versions of the series, but the best improvement, by a long way, is the jaw-dropping scenery which we are now able to experience on our desktops. High-resolution, photo-real scenery allows us to fly over our own houses, places of work and cities and view them as we would in a real aircraft. VFR flying has become much more enjoyable, and one area I am enjoying flying around at the moment (courtesy of some stunning VFR Scenery) is the Hawaiian Islands.”

I LEARNED ABOUT FLYING FROM THAT… PART V
Training programs generate a load of learning experiences, so I’ll remain at Webb Air Force Base, located at Big Spring, Texas (USA) flying the Lockheed T-33A Shooting Star for this next article in the series.

SIMPLIFIED SETUP FOR THE HOME PC
In our last article we discussed how to set up the hardware for a multiple monitor, low end, bare bones home PC cockpit using a laptop computer and your LCD TV. In this article we will discuss how to integrate the Microsoft Flight Simulator software program into the system.
