Baku X is the first commercial scenery of Azerbaijan, featuring a highly detailed representation of UBBB Heydar Aliyev airport as well as Baku city with hundreds of landmarks. This product is compatible with FSX and Prepar3D.
Baku is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan, as well as the largest city on the Caspian Sea and of the Caucasus region. Baku is located 28 metres (92 ft) below sea level, which makes it the lowest lying national capital in the world and also the largest city in the world located below sea level. It is located on the southern shore of the Absheron Peninsula, alongside the Bay of Baku. At the beginning of 2009, Baku's urban population was estimated at just over two million people. Officially, about 25 percent of all inhabitants of the country live in Baku's metropolitan area.
Heydar Aliyev International Airport (IATA: GYD, ICAO: UBBB) (former Bina International Airport) is the main international airport in Azerbaijan located 20 km (12 mi) northeast of the capital Baku. The airport is the home of Azerbaijan Airlines, the national flag carrier. It is the busiest airport in Azerbaijan and of the Caucasus.

I have mixed feelings about this. Of the several Drzewiecki Design sceneries I own this one is my least favorite. For some reason it is a system resources hog despite being the least detailed (settings all being the same) where auto gen is concerned. I’ve made sure I have no duplicate files or anything that could cause the frame rate chugging.
The auto gen is relatively sparse (set to very high) with many empty foot prints.
You will have to visit DDs website to locate and download the photo real Azerbaijan country and lite airports package as it is no longer included. It’s easy enough. The city photo real is much much better than the surrounding country, however even the lower quality surrounding country photo to real is still better than the default FSX if you stay above 3000 feet, but has very few trees. Up close the country photo image scenery is pretty lousy. But I think it’s work having if you can’t run ORBX resource greedy scenery.
The UBBB Baku airport is indeed very nice and the highlight of the entire package. The airport is populated with planes, buses, carts, and people, of which many vehicles are animated and travel the airport. It is packed with great detail. All in all it’s the main airport that makes this package worth buying but only when at sale prices.
A respond to sterling and to everyone else. (I'm not from Drzewiecki Desgin). I love this scenery. Very good as I have been flying to Baku with Silkway many many times. i dont see this as a bad scenery.
No airport is perfect and allastorlekarärvackra (Wilhelm A, 2020)
So Baku deserve at least 4 stars. Maybe 8.
Very interesting and "exotic" destination. The airport design is amazing with the extravagant terminal interior and tons of other details. The city has some landmarks (not many) but the rest is autogen and it looks good. A photoscenery is provided for the whole country, which is low resolution but looks really nice with that mountainous terrain when approaching Baku flying for example from Moscow, Istambul or Budapest. SODE works perfectly at all jetways. I like the fact that simple sceneries of all other airports in that country are included, even so basic versions. Like it!
Thank you for a beautiful scene. No problems with performance, great optimization. No problem with the VAS even using maximum settings of the simulator with FSL320X. Well done!
I bought this scenary togheter with Moscow, personally I prefer the details of Moscow. This is well done, but I found the building and the other area to flat and building unrealistic. Could be I don't love so much photorealistic scenaries, when you fly at 3-4000 feet they looks nice, but near the ground many parts looks flat. High detailed landclass, and so on, the work is well done, the airports is AMAZING, textures, night landing, just fantastic, that's the reason why I bought this scenary, a litle be disappointed with the city details, overall a very good pice for my P3D. I bought it with a special offer, so in this case I'm very satisfied!!!!
It is good to have a high quality scenery for Baku, Azerbaijan. As far as I can tell it is a faithful reproduction of the real world airport, and the modelling is of a very high standard. One might even say that with the Caspian Sea as a backdrop, it is beautiful to behold. The frame rate hit in my high-ish end system is slight with most of the sliders well to the right.
There is one big disappointment. The AI planes get stuck at the hold short nodes, and similarly, landing AI plane either overfly the airport or land and then vanish. This has been reported to DD by several users. So far, there has been no acknowledgement that this is an ongoing problem, so there is no sign of a fix.
The airport and city are beautifully rendered. However do not install the photoreal scenery as it is terrible. If you have ORBX Global or another higher quality scenery coverage it will blend seamlessly with the DD scenery giving you all the unique buildings and landmarks in Baku. I purchased it at PC Aviator as it was 10% off Tuesday so it was slightly cheaper with the exchange rate for US dollars...I know "Ugly American."
