The Borkenberge airfield ( ICAO code : EDLB ) is located in the district of Coesfeld , North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany. The airfield is open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM during the summer months, and from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekends and public holidays. 

The Borkenberge airfield is operated by the Borkenberge Society (BBG  e.V.), an association of air sports clubs within the German Aero Club (Deutscher Aero-Club e.V. ).The approximately 400 club members operate over 130 aircraft and other air sports equipment.

In recent years, the airfield has been expanded in two phases. The first phase involved extending the glider winch launching area and the glider landing runway, with the winch launching area being lengthened from approximately 950  m to approximately 1100  m. The second phase was the extension of the aerotowing area and the lengthening of the main runway (07/25)  from 671 m to 875m.
