New Citation Mustang Complete Edition - Version 2 (Prepar3d v4, v3, FSX, FSX Steam)

This is a new all-in-one Complete edition that covers the following simulators:

  •  Prepar3D v4 (with new P3D v4 specific features)
  •  Prepar3D v3
  •  FSX Boxed
  •  FSX Steam

The Citation Mustang is a breakthrough combination of power, speed and true jet affordability. Certified to be flown by a single pilot, the Mustang features state of the art engines delivering speeds of up to 340kts as well as the latest in large-format glass-cockpit flight displays, easing pilot workload, all while passengers relax in one of the largest cabins in its class. Now, Flight One Software and Cessna Aircraft Company have joined forces to bring you an authentic simulation of the Citation Mustang exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Flight Simulator X Steam Edition, and Prepar3D v4.x and 3.x!

The Cessna Citation Mustang Experience

The Cessna Citation Mustang is considered an entry level business jet. In the standard configuration, the Cessna Citation Mustang has four passenger seats in the aft cabin and seating for two in the cockpit. Like other small business jets, the Cessna Citation Mustang is certified to fly without a co-pilot.

The Cessna Citation Mustang first flew on April 23rd, 2005 and received full type certification from the FAA on September 8th, 2006. This was a historic moment for Cessna and the Cessna Citation Mustang in general because the Cessna Citation Mustang was the first of its class to receive full type certification. It was also the first to receive certification to fly into known-icing conditions, the first VLJ to be delivered to a customer, and it is from the first company to obtain the FAA Production Certificate for a VLJ.

The Cessna Citation Mustang airframe is constructed primarily of aluminum alloys, with a three spare wing group. One main door is located in the forward left section of the aircraft, with an additional emergency exit located on the center right section of the aircraft.

Unlike many light jets, there is no overhead panel. All the switches and gauges are on the instrument panel and the center console. The thrust levers, pitch trim wheel, flap lever, an alphanumeric keypad for the Flight Management System and the switches for aileron and rudder trim are also located on the center console. The instrument panel is dominated by the huge, centrally mounted multi-function display (MFD) and each pilot has a large Primary Flight Display (PFD).

The Cessna Citation Mustang is powered by Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW615F turbofan engines, mounted in pods on the aft fuselage. The landing gear is fully retractable and is equipped with anti-skid protection.

Latest Reviews

"I found the Flight1 Cessna Mustang to be a highly accurate depiction of its real world counterpart. Taken and viewed in its parts, external visual model, 2D panels, virtual cockpit, virtual cabin, sound set, flight dynamics they are all representative of the state of the art in FSX add-on aircraft. May the good old days never return, this is neat stuff. If you don't already have it, put it on your Christmas list." - AVSIM Online

"This aircraft is remarkable, so much so that if I had the money I truthfully think I would consider purchasing the real Mustang. The performance is just incredible. The feel and information available is second to none and it is an overall well modeled detailed aircraft! The exterior lacks nothing! The 2D panel lacks a few systems but again that's an FSX limitation. This aircraft was a real joy to fly and has probably become one of my favorite add-ons." - Flightsim.com

"So how would I regard the Flight1 Mustang? I think the answer to that is that I haven't flown anything else since its release, partly as a result of writing this review and also because I happen to be enjoying the product very much. Now, with the inclusion of SID's and STAR's and Navigraph updates, I feel confident, that the Flight1 Mustang will quickly become just as successful (if not more so) as the developers other products." - Mutley's Hangar - Full Review

"Very often, when it comes to a flight sim product, you can tell immediately whether the developer has access to real aircraft and flight data, and the endorsement and collaboration with Cessna on the Flight1 Mustang is testament to the fact that authenticity and realism was the project goal. The Mustang packs a lot of functionality into a very small aircraft." - PC Pilot Platinum Award, Issue 64

"Business jets are among my favorite aircraft to fly in a flight simulation environment. I have always been a bit disappointed in one way or another with these jets. Flight1 has surprised me by excelling in almost every area which has been a pain to me in prior jet add-ons. I would very highly recommend this product to any virtual pilot who desires familiarity with business jets, jet transition and especially G1000 avionics procedures in an FS environment." - HavetoFly.Com

"You really do realize that this is one sophisticated aircraft with nearly everything electronically monitored and controlled. The development team of the Flight1 Citation Mustang did an amazing job pulling off a near perfect replication of this aircraft's computerized systems. While I can go on and on about the features of the Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang, I have to stop at some point. It is a great plane to add to any hangar." - FSBreak, June 14th Podcast

good scenery but is the only airport I've installed and had issues with FPS

Having owned this since almost day 1, I wanted to hold off reviewing until I saw how the patch cycle went. Having owned the BN-2 and L-19 whose packages started off being pure garbage but several patches later have become very competent models, I know initially rough planes can be great. Being over a month since launch, sadly no updates is forcing me give this a 2 star review. For 29 EUR you are paying somewhat of a premium in this MSFS economy for a plane. This includes fixing what should have glaring issues during QA. A laundry list of bugs and lacking features exist. From the map HUD not turning on properly from cold and dark to non-working interior buttons and switches. Initialization states are not setup properly either (such as spawning at altitude will put you in a plane with no running engine). As others have complained, you will occasionally get a beeping in the cockpit that seemly has a mind of it's own. While the interior looks decent, the exterior is way too shiny and not representative of even a brand new aircraft. As others have pointed out, one of the biggest negatives is the sound. Using A320 and CJ4 default sounds throughout takes you right out of the cockpit experience. The relatively quiet FJ44 engine sounds nothing like the roar of the afterburning J57 in the real plane. At the end of it all I think this plane has promise. Some of what I've mentioned (like initialization states) is something that could be fixed in less than an hour. This isn't Fall of 2020. The SDK is getting quite robust and producing planes like this isn't acceptable anymore.

Incredible airport, impressive quality, ground textures... I just miss a better surrounding modeling, but for 17$, it's enough !

It's a fantastic start. The aircraft models are gorgeous and vibrant in color. However, there needs to be more of them, and at gates instead of just filling up access remote parking spaces. I don't mind having half the gates blocked to spawn into if it means having an airport that looks alive and functional. I think if you kept the aircraft ration at between 50-60% of an airports gates it would really make the game feel much more lively. It is also worth looking into exactly where each airline parks at each of these airports as some of the aircraft placement is incorrect. For example, at KSEA, my home airport, they have southwest planes at the C and D gates. Whereas in real life only alaska uses C and D, with American and Spirit making use of of gates D8, D9, D10, and D11. B gates are a combo of Delta and Southwest, and A gates being split between Delta and United, with united typically occupying anywhere between A21 and A6. N gates are Alaska ONLY, and S gates are anything International and Frontier. I know this is nitpicky but other freeware traffic mods, even with much worse models got the placement correct, and i'd be more than willing to help the developers with putting in the research to ensure each airport has not only the proper AMOUNT of traffic but the proper placement.

Most of them are satisfactory. However, the height of the terminal building is too high. It's very different from the real thing. Hope this gets updated.

Definitely a disappointment! The models are pretty good however the aircraft are few and far between. Would of also liked to be able to have these at the Airports that LVFR created.

SIM SKUNK WORKS - FIAT-AERITALIA G-91 FOR MSFS
Arthur
I have been enthusiastic about this aircraft since childhood and was very happy that the G-91 is available for the MFSF. The design, the details and the presentation of the cockpit inspire me. Unfortunately, I am less enthusiastic about the flight characteristics of the Fiat. At the start I could not keep them on the runway and crashed constantly against airport buildings. SimSkunk advised me, very quickly, to switch to the aircraft model into "Modern". After the changeover I get the Gina at least in the air. There, however, it is extremely unstable, especially around the roll axis. I haven't been able to fly controlled curves so far. The elevator also hardly reacts to the instructions from the cockpit. I also fly the MB-339. It is stable in the air and reacts to rudder movements as I expect. At the moment it is not much fun to fly the G-91. Maybe there will soon be an update that stabilizes the flight behaviour.
PROJECT MAX - CYZF YELLOWKNIFE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT P3D4-5
Timothy
Ridiculously good scenery for the price--or more than the price. MAX keeps getting better. One of these days we'll be saying, "Ah, I knew them when..." And what better time to say thank you for supporting P3D. There is a lot of custom detail, including, of course, the iconic Buffalo hanger. All it needs is a Herman Nelson heater! Plenty of cars and equipment, too. The snow config is super: piles of the stuff, and not all in neat smooth mounds, either. Very realistic. Grey weeds sticking through where it's thinner are a great touch. The pavement is cracked and has puddles, and reflection is used to good effect. I was very impressed. I spent an hour just taxiing around in my Buffalo DC-3 taking in the sights, and it's not a very big airport. The AI traffic was appropriate, too. Lighting is good, and it looks great at night. Five stars doesn't mean it's FlyTampa quality, by the way, but if we have to compare apples and oranges, we should take into account a lot of things, including price and exceeding expectations by a wide margin. This is not some cheap, carelessly knocked out airport. This is really very nice by any standard, and I'm happy to give it five stars. I would have been glad to get any sort of Yellowknife (as an Ice Pilots NWT fan), but this is a very good little airport on its own if you fancy a NWT destination. -
Having said that, I should mention that installation is not exactly a one-click process. In fact, the only clicks are to extract folders and then one to add it from inside P3D. It isn't exactly manual installation (you don't have to look at the scenery.cfg) but it does require attention to detail getting various files (including more than one set of fixes) into the correct places. It probably won't be too hard if you know your way around the P3D folder, but if you've never done this sort of thing before, be aware. Especially since while the instructions do make sense if you already know what you're doing, if you don't and just follow them literally, it's not going to turn out well. If you get in a jam, though, I'm sure the devs would be happy to help, or you could check in with your favorite flight simulation forum, like AVSIM for peer support. Oh, there's also a click or two on the configurator to get those wonderful snow effects. The-
re are a couple of minor graphics issues I've written the developer about. Nothing to cause you to hesitate on a purchase though. I imagine they'll get back to me. They clearly put a lot of effort into this one. A must for Ice Pilots NWT fans, and I can't see anyone who enjoys flying in Canada passing it up. This isn't exactly bush flying. It's a nice flight north from Edmonton and has a First Air terminal. Plenty of appropriate Canadian AI (saw a Canadian North 737: bingo!) Honestly, you won't find better scenery at this price, and you could do worse at twice the price. Just be careful on those valley runs. Nothing good ever happens in Norman Wells on the show ;-)
