The history of the L-4 is best summed up by Ken Wakefield, author of "The Fighting Grasshoppers" and "Lightplanes at War", who graciously contributed the following overview of this aircraft:

"The Piper L-4 Grasshopper of WW2 was the military version of the highly popular pre-war J3 Cub, by which name it was more widely known to service personnel. Of the 5,500 L-4 variants produced between 1942 and 1945, some went to liaison squadrons and of the USAAF, but the vast majority went to US Army Ground Forces, for use as Air Observation Posts (Air OPs) with the Field Artillery. In both air and ground forces, the L-4 was also used as a flying Jeep, among other things carrying priority mail and personnel between HQs and command posts. Its Continental engine produced only 65hp, yet the L-4's excellent short field performance enabled it to operate from the smallest of improvised airstrips, including roads, adjacent to command posts.

Unlike most other combat aircraft, the L-4 was unarmed and unarmoured. It was one of the smallest aircraft of WW2 and, with a cruising speed of only 75 mph, it was the slowest. Nevertheless, it has been claimed that a single L-4, directing the fire power of an entire Division, could bring a greater weight of explosives to bear on a target then any other aircraft of that period. With the exception of the atomic bomb carrying B-29 Superfortress, no other single aircraft had the destructive capability of the diminutive L-4. It was most widely used in Europe, where more than 2,700 served with the Field Artillery, and of these nearly 900 were lost through enemy action or in accidents. Of those that survived the war, about 150 were shipped back to the US, most of the remainder eventually being sold to civilian purchasers in Britain, France, Switzerland, Denmark and elsewhere in Europe. More than 60 years on many of these are still flying with, in recent years, an increasing number being restored to their original military configuration and markings. A truly remarkable 'warbird', long to be remembered."

So successful was the L-4 that it's military use continued on through to the Korean War, and as recently as Vietnam. Today, hundreds still fly on as civilian light aircraft, some as meticulously restored military aircraft and others in colourful civilian schemes.

We hope you enjoy flying this faithful rendition of history.

VIRTUALCOL - EMBRAER 170/175 SERIES FOR MSFS

bought this aircraft because i wanted a ERJ175 to fly, the aircraft has both pros and cons. lets start off with the pros, 1. the exterior model is detailed fairly, its not top quality but good for the price you pay. 2. the cockpit is laid out close to that of a real ERJ so that gains it some points, however those are the only pros i could find. now onto the cons, 1. Nose gear clips ground when breaking. 2.the flight dynamics are not very good at all, feels like I'm flying a paper airplane. 3.engine sounds are ok but there is not much change on the exterior sounds between throttle positions. 4.either reverse works or it does not. 5.FMC displays A320 as aircraft in use. those are the major things i could see after flying around for 30 min. if they improved the sound, flight dynamics and ground clipping it would actually be an alright aircraft!

The flight dynamics are very unrealistic and the plane is very hard to control (it should not be). The autopilot does not work, the VS mode does not work in a turn, won't hold altitude and starts descending. If you bring up the flaps the AP won't catch the airplane from nose diving. The trim is strange, the flaps have too much lift and lift the nose. The plane is not stable on an ILS approach, keeps wondering back and fourth and if you add flaps to quickly it will start climbing out of the glide slope. The AP does not deal well with the speed brakes being deployed during decent. The displays are all unrealistic, don't look like the real jet, no vertical profile in the MFD. No weather, No TCAS. No thrust reversers, no animation for them, no indication. The E170/E175 does have thrust reversers IRL. Clouds cause haze in the cockpit. I mean there is so much to list even beyond known quality issues. This effort is not as good as their P3d/FSX version. That version actually flew and had fairly accurate systems despite not being high quality.

aircraft is unflyable, textures look bad. plenty of other aircraft to choose on simmarket that are better than this one.

I bought this on the MSFS Marketplace and I consider it to be very well made. Flies great and the sound is awesome. It comes with an integrated checklist (albeit not automatable, although starting the plane is simple enough, tbh) and even has historic pilot avatars and the regular ones from MSFS to choose from. The plane is a lot of fun, no regrets to buy this. It is also a total bargain.

I truthfully have no complaints. -
I had low expectations since many kept saying this was bad. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The exterior is beautiful. What else can I say? The cockpit looked nice, maybe not study level. If you don't like how it flies and already purchased it, try a flight improvement mod! It definitely helped me out! Happy flying!

It's a great scenery and I would give it a 4.5 star rating. This is available since 2016 and still has not a SODE gateways! this put this scenery a way back compared to other sceneries of similar price range. I give it 3 out of five stars.

Just an Update for my review. i've been contacted by Virtualcol, and they explaind the importance of activating the AP exactly as in the Tutorial, and it workes much better now.thnx for the fast response. to sum it up: speed MUST be inputed for flight phase in the FMS BEFORE activating AP, Select the desired ALT without pressing the ALT hold, engage the VS and select, engage FMC button (NOT NAV) and only then activate the AP. still can't quite figure out speed selection logic, and ILS APP, but maybe it's me. anyways TUTORIALS are a must to fly this one, can't just jump in! i've had some more enjoyable flights now, hope some flightmodel improovments will be done to make more realistic. hop-
e this helps, have fun!

Producto bastante mediocre. Copia paneles de otros aviones y tiene bastantes fallos. Las texturas externas son un poco más pasables. No es un trabajo profesional. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.
