What is FSFO CRJ?

Flight Simulator First Officer CRJ is designed to work specifically with the Aerosoft CRJ 700/900 X and Professional; in short, it adds a touch of realism while providing a copilot to share cockpit responsibilities. FSFO has a very small learning curve, does not require strict adherence to scripts, or precise speech. To that end, the copilot can complete the entire checklist himself, or simply verify the accuracy of each switch. Checklists mimic the ones provided by Aerosoft and available via “Dave.” Each setting will be set/checked per the tutorial (Vol 3) provided by Aerosoft. FSFO allows you to accurately configure CRJ quickly and according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Integrated Checklist
- Passive Mode - when called, the copilot will call the checklist item; if it's set correctly, he will proceed to the next item; if it’s not set correctly, he will wait for the pilot to configure the system, switch or button before proceeding to the next call.
- Active Mode – When called, the copilot will call the checklist item, then set it correctly himself; this feature allows you to fly the CRJ with little to no knowledge; all you’ll need to do is program the FMS.
Speech Recognition
- Say the command and the Copilot will execute the task. The following commands are available: flaps up, flaps zero, flaps one, flaps eight, flaps twenty, flaps thirty, flaps forty-five, flaps full, gear up, gear down, autopilot on, autopilot off, takeoff power, climb power, cruise power, let's get started, safety checklist, originating checklist, before start checklist, start engines, after start checklist taxi checklist, before takeoff checklist, climb checklist, descent checklist, approach checklist, landing checklist, after landing checklist, shutdown checklist, terminating checklist, navigation mode, nav mode, approach mode, heading select, and speed mode.
Speed Calls:
- Copilot call Power Set
- Copilot calls Speed Alive
- Copilot calls 80 Knots on takeoff and 100, 80 and 60 Knots on landing
- Copilot calls V1, Rotate and V2
- Copilot calls “400 feet”
- Copilot calls “acceleration altitude”
- Vref monitoring (i.e. copilot will advise the captain when the airspeed falls below the imputed value on landing)
Engine Callouts
- Calls “Engine 1 and 2 Started”
- Calls "Engine 1 and 2 Cutout"
- Calls “All Engines Stable”

Safety Checks:
- Before Takeoff - Copilot checks the flaps and trims; if they're incorrect, he will warn you
- After Takeoff - Copilot checks the landing gear and flaps; if they're incorrect, he will warn you
- Before Landing - Copilot checks the landing gear, flaps and thrust reversers; if they're incorrect, he will warn you
- Doors – Copilot will warn you anytime the engines are running and the main door is opened
Auto generates VATSIM advisory messages when tuned to UNICOM (i.e. 122.8)
- Messages are automatically copied to Window’s clipboard; you simply paste them into your VATSIM client (e.g. Vpilot or Squakbox). After all, you should be looking out the cockpit window, not typing messages ;).
Copilot Options:
- Manages Autopilot – Copilot turns on/off IAS, NAV, HDG, and Master Autopilot
- Manages Gear – Copilot can raise/lower the gear at the designated altitudes
- Manages Flaps – Copilot will raise/lower the flaps at the designated speeds
- Manages Altimeters - Copilot can set altimeters based on flight parameters
- Speed Warns - If selected, Copilot will:
  - Advice you when the Indicated Air Speeds (IAS) goes above 250 knots; if the aircraft is below 10,000 feet MSL.
  - Advice you if your ground speed exceeds the knots established via the Profile screen, “GS Warn” option. The default is 30 knots
- Manages Lights - Copilot can turn on/off ALL lights at the appropriate altitudes and time of day; this includes interior lights
- Systems Monitoring - Copilot can also callout flap changes, parking brake, landing and spoiler status. For example, if you retract the flaps from 8 to 1, the copilot will call “Flaps 1.” If the landing gear is extended, the Copilot calls “landing gear down”
- Manages Autopilot – Copilot will set Spd, HDG, NAV, and FDs.
- Manages Wipers – Copilot will set wipers according the precipitation intensity
- Manages Thrust – Copilot will set thrust during the Takeoff, Climb, Cruise and Landing phases.
Miscellaneous Options:
- Copilot can handle VATSIM Mode C settings
- Saves/Loads Aircraft location; you can click a button and have your aircraft moved to the last saved location
- Computes Top Of Descent
- Pauses at TOD
- Loads Flight Plans directly into your Flight Simulator
- Load Manager – quickly load Fuel and Payload with one easy click; this feature is quicker than using DAVE.
