It's not the best flightbeam product ever but Mir did promise future updates for it. Terminal interior's kinda lacking but it is a solid product overall. I would definitely recommend if you fly into MSP frequently.
There's plenty of fantastic Flightbeam work present at this scenery. The main terminal area is modelled beautifully both for buildings and ground features and textures.
And overall the ground textures are done very well, including fantastic runway textures.
Unfortunately the scenery disappoints heavily away from the main terminal complex:
- No 3D glideslope or localiser antennas
- Flat objects visible on the aerial imagery throughout the airport. Small service buildings, cars, trucks, there's plenty of flat stuff next to parking aprons or taxiways. And a large museum area is all flat as well, resulting in large flat aircraft visible right next to an apron area.
- Flat aircraft tails sticking out from under a maintenance hangar apron. These should have been covered with a grass texture!
- All tunnels and ramps are flat, with the exception of the one at the main terminal. Many of those route beneath taxiways and are thus visible extremely well when taxiing by.
- Performance seems OK for an airport this size, however I do experience more stutters compared to others.
Overall I feel this airport has been rushed and is not presented in Flightbeam quality and care. You get this brilliant main terminal combined with disappointment almost everywhere else. This many flat objects and structures right next to taxiways and aprons is just not good enough. Competitors have shown that you can do a large airport with 3D detail everywhere and not just in one area, while still getting a good performance.
I hope Flightbeam can improve here to have a consistent level of quality throughout the airport.
